I don't like how people are attacking Ben. He's a good, straight forward guy by what he's done so far.

Todt came from the FOM, so did Mosley before him. You probably have to go back to Jean-Marie Balestre (1993), when F1 was a completley different beast to what it is now, to find a FIA president that hadn't sat on the FOM side prior to becoming the FIA pres. The FOM guys are accustom to having a FIA pres with the same point of views as them.

There is also where Ben comes from. It makes him a target from the not too liberal amoung us.

He's also a target for the liberal ones ("I don't like women who think they’re smarter than...")

Not wanting to be political, but how does anyone know what his current attitude is?
PR will certainly be the blinding light.

Only behind closed doors...

Right but 20 years ago, statements like that were common place. You're appling today's social standards to something that was said twenty years ago.

Ehm, not, those type of comments were not accepted back then either. At least, not in mine environment.

Remember he said he didn't like women that thought they were smarter than men. That different to not liking women who think they're men's equals or who actually are smarter. There is a nuance there.

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem has sent a letter to F1 team bosses in which he has decided to relinquish the hands-on running of the governing body. Sulayem, who was elected the president of F1's governing body in December 2021, and quickly outlined a plan to restructure the FIA's F1 operations.2 hours ago

But the 61-year-old Emirati will now only concentrate on "strategic matters" going forward, with director of single-seater racing Nikolas Tombazis taking over the "day-to-day" running

sounds like he's putting someone between him and FOM...
