the other option for Daniel Ricciardo would be HASS which I don't think he will choose.

It would be a bit strange to pop along to Toto and say Ferrari are giving me £40million to drive there, I’m going to need the same or more to drive for Mercedes.

Given Lewis and Toto say Lewis’ heart lies with Mercedes, it’s a strange thing to want to go to Ferrari and say they will give £40m to drive for them.

So it’s either a non story (likely) or Mercedes aren’t willing to pay that much money for Lewis.

I still find it odd that if they are both so happy working together then a simple signature on a contract seems not a lot to ask for.

What would be a loss to Mercedes if they are to exchange Charles to Lewis? They get a fast driver who can do the job if the car is there for it and they anyway have another fast driver who is similarly capable. But if Charles comes for a cheaper remuneration, then why not?

If Ferrari are planning to replace Sainz with Lewis, that's a different proposition. For so long as Ferrari doesn't have a winning car, having anyone in the car doesn't really matter.

no Lecrec will be in Ferrari along with Hamilton. Charles not going any where. Ferrari need experienced Driver with WDC. So, Sainz will be out.

then I think Pereze move to Mercedes to fill Hamilton place.

RB will kick NIck and bring the young gun in AT, Ric will drive for RB along with Max for an year then Liam Lawson will replace RIC in 2026.

Hamilton has reached the point where his best option would be shares in team ownership rather than 'cash value', and Merc are not at a high point.
I would not be surprised to see Hamilton in an official capacity at Merc in the near future, as he has always said it is where his heart is.

If you want to scare your two drivers in to performing better, using the top name in the sport might be one way of doing it. "Do better or we'll bring in this guy that has won more than anyone else and you can go and drive taxis in Monaco". Or something.
