When was the last time a Williams was on top of a qualy session? Bottas in the rain in a Williams in 2016 comes to mind

Brilliant job by Albon/Williams but they have nothing to loose

I still laugh on those hypes around Perez at the start of the season. I mean, not that I’m against it, but let’s be real. With current team mate and dominant car he is not champion material

Second before it dropped. 7mins left, but rain getting heavier.

Could be Max & Hulk front row

Even from p2 I'll be surprised if he can stay in the points

Alonso was about to set a purple final sector when the red flag came out, but his first one was probably not good enough to take Pole. He was +0.35s behind after sector 2.

All over, too wet now.

Max pole, Hulk P2 and Alonso P3.

Sector 3 was Alonso's worst compared to verstappen (generally speaking this weekend)

Is anyone even surprised that Max is on pole in the wet? lol. I don't know why anyone wanted a wet qualifying. If it was dry, at least Ferrari might have had a shot at upsetting the normal order. Now Ferrari got completely screwed and they looked like RB's closest challenger.
It doesn't turn.

he had two purple segments that lap, but yeah, probably wouldn't have changed much

Why Mercedes didn't send their drivers out first in Q3.
Of course I struggle. I just don’t quit.

I would assume that they wanted the tyre blankets on for as long as possible since they seem to have the most trouble putting heat into them. It’s a fine balance though since more rain on the track will work against it even more, but that must be the reason.
