Who hits 6000 rpm in the average road car? Even in my rotary(10Krpm) I shift at 3-4K rpm, unless I'm blowing out the carbon.

Well luckily I do whenever I leave one of the 8 toll booths on the way home.. I usually see 8500rpm in my little v8, but I do it for the sound... : - )

The one that is slightly modified that sits in my Maserati Coupe' The toll booths provide good entertainment for the drive in and the drive home..

8500 in a road going V8 is quite impressive, enjoy... maybe i'm too used to chevy small blocks and 454's

My volvo wagon has an auto transmission. Under slow accelerations (going to work, shops etc) it shifts at around 2k-2.5k rpm. If I want to I can accelerate hard enough to have a good kick form the turbo, at around 4.5k. But it redlines at just 6k.

But......that's why I got the motorbikes, for the more fun activities.
