Big news for McLaren, article from motorsport.com. Not much of an article though, it's breaking so more to follow.
Agreed. I am quite happy they are staying with Mercedes. Only way I would be OK with a new engine manufacturer is if McLaren had some type of partnership with a "junior" team and then used that team to develop the engine. Unfortunately McLaren does not have that type of team.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑24 Nov 2023, 11:37It was expected to stick with Mercedes and the safest choice. No more Honda type experiments with a new manufacturer. In greece we say that you never change something that gives you wins.
It will be interesting to see if Lando does extend his contract.LionsHeart wrote: ↑24 Nov 2023, 12:37I'm extremely happy to see this news today that McLaren and Mercedes have extended their powertrain contract. I am now much more relaxed in that respect.
It's just a matter of renewing Lando's contract.
I confirm a similar thought. But the lack of a contract kept me on my toes. It's stable now. Lando needs to extend his contract to 2030, as I have written before.CjC wrote: ↑24 Nov 2023, 12:43It will be interesting to see if Lando does extend his contract.LionsHeart wrote: ↑24 Nov 2023, 12:37I'm extremely happy to see this news today that McLaren and Mercedes have extended their powertrain contract. Piastri must have known about who was going to supply McLaren for the foreseeable future when he signed his multi year deal
