i would not be surprised if there was little money in the Speed TV link. its a money maker for the team in exposure for its sponsors alone.

Secrecy.. creates suspense, rumours, talk, publicity.. or they genuinely haven't made a lot of decisions yet so there's nothing to reveal!
in terms of who is funding it all, no one but the FIA (in order to win a slot on the grid) has been on a need-to-know basis thus-far. its not in their interests to tell us common folk.

As to the experienced drivers available to pair up with their rookie US driver? Won't Trulli possibly be available.. surely a better choice than Wurz or other test-drivers out there.

Secrecy creates suspense? Perhaps, but there's a limit for everything, when you cannot even access the USGPE web-site six months before the car should be on the track, well, I don't know.

doubt JPM will be interested now that there could be a chance that schumacher can be in a car in 2010. He never got along with either schumachers

If it's true that JPM recently said no to Frank Williams, I doubt if USGPE looks any more appealing to him.

Well... The caption "F U Schumi" on USF1 livery might be enough to entice JPM to think about it  ... Kidding.

you never know...

PS: Frank called JPM not for the return.

Neither of them is perhaps the great sponsor-magnet for the US-market though?

Didn't Windsor himself underline that specific aspect on drivers just the other day?

Fact: Chad Hurley is putting money into USGP.

There's three ways of looking at it from there:

A) Chad Hurley is expecting no advertisements whatsoever in return for his money.

B) Chad Hurley is going to be putting YouTube logos on the USGP cars.

C) Chad Hurley is going to put some other logo onto the USGP cars.

You can have A, B, C, or B and C.

But why would you invest money into what will most definitely be a money-losing proposition if you're not getting exposure of your brands out of the deal?

Is Hurley doing this out of the good of his heart? I think not.

Xpensive, I guess Chad Hurley is the answer to your question, "Show me the money." Or was that Conceptual who asked that question? I sometimes confuse the two of you. Sorry.

But seriously, where does it say that USF1 will be financially sponsored by YouTube?

All I can read is the typical Windsorisms like; “Bringing in a businessman with his level of credentials, and experience in developing and fostering a vision for startup companies, is an honor, and we look forward to taking on the Formula One challenge together in 2010 and beyond.”

it doesn't. As Professor said, 'Chad Hurley is the answer to your question..'

From what i have understood, this is Chad's personal investment. Nothing to do with YouTube or Google, unless he helps the team sign contracts with them.

Autosport.com: What got you interested in F1 and the US F1 project?
Chad wrote: ..for me personally it was a perfect blend of my personal interest. And that's what initially raised my interest in this opportunity with Ken and Peter and US F1. Really, beyond that, coming from my perspective as an entrepreneur, I thought it was a great business opportunity and a good investment.

Autosport.com: You are obviously well-connected in Silicon Valley – do you believe that you could find additional support for the team, technical as well as financial?
Chad wrote:I am definitely going to be involved in helping the team with sponsors, helping the team with business relationships ...integrating technology – ways that they can leverage and benefit from social media and the Internet broadly.

It's just a great opportunity. And the side benefit to all of this is that we are trying to do something new and we are actually creating jobs.
