First post: fuel pressure question?

Hi everyone, pleased to meet you!

I have a question about fuel pressure here, particularly, how in Earth does 100bar of pressure get produced for the F1 fuel system in the first place? I just don't understand, do they make a special pump just for the application? Or is there another solution in play?

Also, can someone help me to visualize how much 100bar is(like an example ie. a scuba tank exploding, is it the same as a water jet used to cut through steel? etc)

A hundred bars is really not that much in terms of hydraulic pressure, the high-pressure water-unit you buy at any store for washing your car or roof, can handle 100 - 300 Bar.

Hold your thumb against the water-tap, that's typically 6-8 Bar.

A water-jet for cutting steel is a different animal though, 3000 bars comes to mind.
