I'm not imagining it, that nose isn't moving much at all, it's very stable.
More anti dive?
Not sure if it is just the track, but it looks more stable, and possibly more compliant, but the telemetry will tell us what the eye test cannot. But there looks to be a difference from what I can see.

Edit: If everyone is putting in fast laps, then Landos lap on hards look rather good.

Lando aborted the last lap, but he was 1.5-2 tenths up on Oscar by the S2 split.

The upgrade seems to be good.

In China, Oscar completed his Soft lap, but Lando aborted into the final corner, to pit and save a lap on a tyre that's going to be useful later in the weekend. Which way will they go here?
Seems planned, no errors by Lando. A little "foreshadowing" there by the team.

Piastri was down 3 tenths after sector 2 on his Q-lap simulation. On the finish line, he was just 1 tenth behind Verstappen.

Can we add more downforce? We are gaining too much on the straights compared to the Red Bull! I am just kidding of course.

Norris was good in the slow speed there

He locked the fronts going in T17. Exit was really poor because of it.

Commentators also suggesting that the RB was struggling with overheating tyres, but didn't see enough to comment. Relative to the field however, it looks very positive.

Tyre Deg (Including heating) is one of the planned upgrades of this car, so it is a good place to see how much of a difference there is.

The new tunnel was available for the new car development after the summer break - https://www.mclaren.com/racing/formula- ... nd-tunnel/

Note this comment from the above link:
An old-specification McLaren model was used for the basic correlation of the wind tunnel ahead of the Summer Shutdown, which was the final stage of the process. Now complete, we notified the FIA that we would be leaving Toyota’s wind tunnel and moving into our new one. This is an important step in the evolution of McLaren Racing and the acceleration of our 2024 car design.
The recent interview in "The Race" with Otmar indicates that teams don't work on the new car until after the break - https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/rena ... r-verdict/

Based on the above points, can the narrative in this thread from some posters that the 2024 car was designed with the old wind tunnel end? It wasn't.

Didn't the team say, the car that started the season was the old Tunnel with upgrades from the new.

I'm pretty sure that's tge case.

The sectors are a bit weird and all over the place. But the speed traps for Lando are really really good. Drag seems to have been reduced.

Why do I have this thought in the back of my mind that we might be fighting for pole...

Turns 11 through 15 look good for the Mclaren in FP1. Turn 16 challenged Oscar, but Norris when on Softs looks like he might be a match for the Red Bull here, and over a lap.
