Alonso was clearly managing tyres. Not gonna lie, pace was terrible though, but Lance wasn’t anywhere close after the second SC?!
He was just managing ffs. After the last SC he showed his true pace just like in the first stint before the SC
It looks like mechanical grip seems to be the issue but also rear end stability. The front end seems to be fixed with the new wing and the car seems balanced but rear end is still not good. I heard there is a good fix coming in spain, whether it works is another thing.OnEcRiTiCaL wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 9:03 pmAston race pace very slow at every situation. Doesn't matter is wet,is dry is cold or warm. Is aero or mechanical grip. Also Doesn't matter is inter, hard or soft. Was painful to watch how much faster the Redbull, McLaren and Mercedes of course Ferrari is there except today. Was more than 20 sec Alonso behind the Mercedes, if this a clean race then rhe top 10 could be impossible. Very disappointed again,
"whether it works" is definitely the most difficult test , lets see if it does for once.Ashwinv16 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 9:06 pmIt looks like mechanical grip seems to be the issue but also rear end stability. Considering that Alonso drives understeer, the car is not at all ideal for him. I agree with you, but I can't understand what the problems are in the back, Mercedes is ok with thatdiffuser wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 8:55 pmAMR still has too much oversteer. Alonso is creeping around without confidence in the rear of the car.Sherrinford wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 8:52 pmFerrari had an atypical weekend, you can't consider it. Good points for this race, but I expected more personally. Still the same problems as at the beginning of the year, not a good thing

How do we know those load values in that article are right? His race pace predictions were off.SSJ4 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 11:26 pmhttps://www.funoanalisitecnica.com/2024 ... -race.html
so we did have low load compared to the rest. makes sense why race pace was pretty poor.
i still dont understand the obsession with wanting to be quick in a straightline. especially when you knew it was gonna rain. surely just run bigger wings like mclaren used to do
Pace was really good. Just not more than 6th. They were alot faster than 8th and down.MichaelxScarn wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 8:58 pmAlonso was clearly managing tyres. Not gonna lie, pace was terrible though, but Lance wasn’t anywhere close after the second SC?!
hard to know what alonsos true pace is when hes not being pressured. he spends so much time managing tires. it happens every race when theres really no chance to catch the cars ahead, he lets the cars behind get to almost DRS before he picks it up. the only pressure he had today was hamilton. he gapped stroll after the final safety car
