I like individual parts of it, but I don't like the whole thing. The back end does not match the front too well. I don't like the boxy nose with its big grill, separate air scoops below the tall headlights. It does not flow well. This contrasts with the smooth, sleek, rear end. The rear looks more aero than the front. This retro design matches the the old 300 SL, but it's a little too retro styled for my taste.
In terms of contemporary sports car styling, I would not at all consider this Mercedes to be in the same league with the Ferrari 458 Italia, or McLaren MP4-C12.
I don't love it nor do I hate it.
I remember Gorden Murray setting up the level tables at Woking for the first SLR.
I do not see this thing as anywhere near that car.
Probably a cost cutting exercise by Merc if truth were known and I dont even like Ron Dennis.
I'm sure it's a beast of a car, but to me it's just hot looking.
When I look at a new Lambo for instance or the Aston Martin or even the Maserati coupe, I see a sexy car that looks hot even sitting still. I just don't get that same feeling when I look at this one.
