i wouldnt put much stock into laptimes on a tire test, too many variables, Lewis running in the morning and charles in the afternoon being one of them, then you got stuff like possible different fuel loads, run plans and tires. Alex Brundle made a good point about it.

Starting debates over tyre test lap times of all things strikes me as peculiarly impatient. Relax, the first qualifying session isn't that far off then we can have the heated arguments people so desire when it happens.

Wherever Lewis goes, there's the biggest battle. Pirelli tire test, it's game on!

It's being conducted (tyre test for LH ?) on development tyre for 2026, with effectively 20% reduction in downforce to simulate expected new rules outcome.

CL was in the 23 car as I understand, to complete running that was missed after chassis damage last week.

Times can't offer anything in the way of performance assessment for 25 season.

I like Zhou. As soon as the car wasn't absolute crap and had some balance he was matching or ahead of Bottas. With the guidance of Fred v, Charles and lewis I think he could do decent. Maybe as a potential successor once lewis retires if bearman is a flop or finds other opportunities. But I don't want to think about successors for Ham  8)

Zhou looking sharp in the Ferrari kit!

I don't have much to say about his driving as I didn't pay attention to Sauber last season, but I do like him as a person so I'm happy to have him. And Italian Jesus, of course =D>

Does this mean Bearman is not a reserve driver for Ferrari this season?

And that's a wrap on the tests.

Final day lap times:

Hamilton - 1:16.759 :(

Leclerc - 1:14.971 8)

Of course these times don't mean anything - different tires etc. would I be saying this if ham was ahead

Hopefully both drivers have found use in the track time and dusted off the winter cobwebs. This is the calm before the storm now - in a few weeks it's all gonna start kicking off in a good way

The deal works for everyone. Zhou gets to go back where he started and keep his name in f1 and Ferrari get sales from the Chinese market on merch.

The Zhou deal has something to do with Cadillac apparently

Last year Ferrari's sales dropped 30% in China. I think this is the key thing.

Derek Chang is the new Liberty Media President and CEO. He was the former head of China's NBA. There has been interest in a Chinese backed team looking to join the grid. Maybe the pieces are starting to fit and the 12th team's power unit may just be Ferrari.

I was excited for this season but not so much anymore. This thing will likely have major impact on the relative performance of the cars and their set up.
I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet. We really have no idea how it'll end up. I 100% thought 2024 would be a boring season, but I was thankfully wrong.

That being said...... it is a silly decision and I'm still annoyed by it.

Last season, a significant factor in why Red Bull comfortably won the WDC is because of the lead they built up in the first few races. (The other factor was, of course, Verstappen himself.) I can only pray that if the TD hits Ferrari hard, the SF-25 is able to be extremely competitive before it comes into effect.
If the season started in Miami, Verstappen would still have won. The margin would have been into single digits, but it shows that consistency is key.
You can not assume that. If the gap remained close McLaren could have spend more money and effort to the 2024 car development if they felt they have a chance. Especially towards the end of the season.

Ferrari, please.
Rivals, not enemies. (Now paraphrased from A. Newey).
