McLaren sure likes to burn away testing time for no reason at all (if you believe them).

Keeping Lando 1 hour in the garage to then proceed to only set 7 timed laps. On top of that, Oscar was also burning away session time staying in the pits earlier this morning.

I don’t understand why a team would burn away half the test’s time sitting in the pits if there’s nothing going on, so I don’t really believe the them.
They did the same last year. I remember because it frustrated me.

chill m8..

testing is a programe. they are doing things, bolting things on and off...just endlessly racking up laps doesnt mean anything. remeber we just have 3 days. a lot of iterations to be tested, so a lot of wrenching during seting up the car.

I am pretty chill. But it is testing. If you’re not on track, there should be a reason for it and I don’t buy this facade they’re selling that staying on the pits for 2.5 hrs out of 4 per session is all according to plan.

It’s the lap count though, no?
I know they aren’t top of that chart either but it’s not like they are massively down the last time I looked.

Motorsport Turkey reporter is giving short summaries of each teams' vibes/feedback from the test so far:
The general feeling from the McLaren drivers is similar to last year. They are still not completely happy with the rear end of the car, but they continue to "keep their strengths" in the areas where they are strong.

I still think the car will continue to improve until the first race, so we'll have to wait.

Love that the team is trying to tamp down the rhetoric on all the WCC proclamations

Last year pace in the race at Bahrain for reference.

And last year's track conditions for reference.

Really strong first stint by Lando just now. Considering laptimes, safe to assume it's a full race sim in terms of fuel. He was mostly on the low 35's whereas last year, even the second stint was nowhere near that.

EDIT: Low 34's now on the C2 after the pits.
