It's 24 races. He can put in the building blocks now to build on to progressively strenghten over the season. It's not his first rodeo, so he probably using the time now when things are not critical to get bedded in.

Charles hit a 1.20.8 after letting Max go up the track. I am tired of pretending this isn't a strong car - they are in the fight for a win here to me.ScuderiaLeo wrote: ↑14 Mar 2025, 08:01SoulPancake13 wrote: ↑14 Mar 2025, 07:57This race sim from Charles is mighty, before hitting traffic (aka Max) the times were crazy, he hit a 1.21.2
Looks very close so far! But I doubt either team is showing their full hand, so we'll just have to wait and see how it unfolds tomorrow...![]()
the times in the 1.21's for both Norris and Leclerc are them using DRS, Charles using it a good bit behind Max, Lando a good bit behind Kimi. Piastri and Lewis were the ones not using drs for most of it and Lewis was matching times with Piastri and then got a little bit quickerSoulPancake13 wrote: ↑14 Mar 2025, 07:57This race sim from Charles is mighty, before hitting traffic (aka Max) the times were crazy, he hit a 1.21.2
No, LEC never did a single lap in 1.21 behind Max, although he did use DRS when he was behind him, had a bunch of 1.22.5+ before placing a 1.31+ to let Max up and immediately placed a 1.20.8 without anyone in front and no DRS on 20+ lap old tires.Luscion wrote: ↑14 Mar 2025, 08:04the times in the 1.21's for both Norris and Leclerc are them using DRS, Charles using it a good bit behind Max, Lando a good bit behind Kimi. I believe we are running significantly higher DF than McLaren. Not a worry for now.deadhead wrote: ↑14 Mar 2025, 08:29How big of a concern is the lower top speed compared to the MCL?
"Even in race pace regime #Ferrari very slow as top speed compared to #McLaren , look at the numbers above of #Leclerc vs #Norris on track together with an almost equal time. It seems due to the sum of engine and load. Ferrari seems to start from a very slow intro to then grow up to the times McLaren, which however has a less conservative pace at the beginning of the stint. #AustralianGP"
