To be fair to Charles he's only had 3 grand prix here. In 2018 he finished 18th, 2019 in 5th and 2024 in 4th. So it's not a favoured or we'll known circuit for him. I don't think we should be assuming that if Hamilton does well in Ferrari, it makes Russell some godly driver for beating him... but anyways what an insane thing to say after one session.
You can really tell who in this topic are Ferrari fans and who are here to start crap. A real Tifosi would be overjoyed at having two competitive drivers, same as last season. The same can't be said for some other teams.
The pace today looked really good. Great tire saving by both drivers with lower deg and they didn't sacrifice much pace at the start of the stint. If Leclerc can find more comfort in the car I think a double podium is possible. But we'll see how qualifying goes before getting too excited.
Yea its not a knock on Charles, infact the opposite, he just needs to change the setup of the car, despite his issues he was stilll quick at the endJdn1327 wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025, 06:41To be fair to Charles he's only had 3 grand prix here. OMG! He told I was his ONLY special confidante! Now I understand how Toto feels being backstabbed by Fred...LM10 wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025, 01:50Funny because I got a call from Vasseur too. He told me that I should not be happy about the sprint qualifying result and rather keep my expectations as low as possible because they've done an awful job with the car overall. Here and there they will cheat like in China, but the real performance of the car is way off.
I don't know if I should tell this in the forum, but... they actually mounted the pull-rod front suspension the wrong way. Vasseur at the moment is trying everything to convince a McLaren engineer to explain them the secrets of suspension mounting in a crash course.

We are very much prisoners of the moment (human nature, I suppose) and forget that 23 races (and several more sprints) will occur before all is said and done.
Yeah for sure. Charles is a very intelligent racer...and people tend to overlook that because of how quick he is over 1 lap. But he managed his tyres well and nearly overtook Russell at the end.Luscion wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025, 06:46Yea its not a knock on Charles, infact the opposite, he just needs to change the setup of the car, despite his issues he was stilll quick at the endJdn1327 wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025, 06:41To be fair to Charles he's only had 3 grand prix here.
