Kubica underated ?

Post

How else here thinks Kubica is underrated? I think he is a fantastic driver and deserves a shot with a fast car, teams should be queuing up to sign him. Hamilton / Kubica at McLaren ... whats the chances of this? Sounds promising doesn't' it. Surely he will be making the wrong move going to Renault...

Surely,Kubica deserves a wining car as similar things can be said for Rosberg too.But i think Mclaren will stay away from him becouse they probably don't want a driver who can upset Hamilton's No:1 driver status inside the team.-That's why i believe they won't sign Kimi or Rosberg too.-
Despite the recent scandal,Renault is still Renault. They've enough talent and probably more motivation to prove themselves again. He can play the team leader role and may become the new "Alonso" of Renault.
Going to Renault doesn't seem to be a wrong move for Kubica i think.

I don't think he's under-rated but I think he's physically quite big - that creates a headache for the designers when they have 1 big and 1 small driver.

HE is way over rated, Heidfeld has handled him, and has outscored him in points since they have been teammates.

The BMW boys like different things out of the car so when 1 feels good the other is struggling.

Kubica is a big guy, tall and heavy(for F1), so that is a drawback that cant be designed around.

Neither are world class drivers like a Senna or a MS.

If Kovalainen can spend 2 years in a Mclaren then Kubica definitely deserves a seat at a top team.

F1 seen taller drivers before like Justin Wilson,he even changed teams during the season and as it seems it's not the hardest thing to adapt the car for a driver unless a system like KERS affecting the weight balance too much.

I don't believe that Kubica is over-rated.Remember what was said about Fisi during the years before he signed a contract with Renault. Many people suggested that if he has a wining car at his disposal, he could achive great success but the truth is different now(He outpaced Massa in 2004 than demolished by Alonso in a wining car).Kubica's difference from Fisi,he has already showed that he can be quick and consistent when he has a chance (remember the first half of 2008 season). The problem was BMW's silly let's do everything bit by bit approach. They ignore Kubica's comments and focussed on 2009 season earlier to create a dog.

he seems to be a saught after driver by the teams.Toyota has lost him to another team, if you can work out what that one is :P That's what John howett said on the BBC or words to that effect.

Kubica is over rated in my opinion and it is Nick that has had the smelly end of the stick from the media.

I would have Nick every day over Bob.

It's funny how everything I have ever read form anyone in F1 thinks Kubica is very fast, and is rated very highly, But I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Someone as experienced as Heidfeld should be able to hand Kubica his ass in an ass-handing basket, not be about the same, with results that beat Kubica, but not by a lot, by any reasonable definition.

I tend to listen to what the overall F1 fraternity says, and when armchair experts give their opinions without being privy to the things that the teams see (like actual telemetry, and hearing the actual conversations with the drivers) I always have a laugh.

To call someone overrated, who is actually rated quite highly by F1 teams and drivers, is simply a misnomer.

When the car suits Heidfeld he handily beats Kubica... When it suits Kubica he barely outpaces Heidfeld... which is why after almost 3 and a 3rd full seasons racing against each other Heidfeld still has more points than Kubica.

Ignore the hearsay and rumours and go back and look at the actual hard data.

Yep, I'm afraid so. Kubica is another one of these young drivers who's come in with a big reputation, has looked fast and spectacular on occasions but he's had nowhere near the consistency of Heidfeld. Heidfeld has outscored Kubica by thirty points over about three seasons so we're not just talking about a few statistically insignificant points either side.

The rule of thumb with Heifeld is that if the car is reliable then he tends to finish more than any other driver. If I was Toyota and I wanted to get somewhere I'd lay off offering big money for someone like Raikkonen or Kubica and get Heidfeld in first. He's a driver who gets results you can build on.

Yeah but Toyota want to win races, even if its just winning one and DNF in the other 17. So Kubica is the man for the Job.
Heidfeld will bring the car home 100% of the time, but can he bring home wins?
For Sure!!
