He should criticize his team for their unforgiving culture. They could be like everyone else and allow their rookies to develop in midfield teams, or give them a lot of TPC, but they purposely put the rookies in high pressure sink or swim situations to see if they're generational talents. They must expect a fallout as 1 in 10 people will be able to succeed.
Liam should sue the team for misguidance. He was always going to drink the coolaid of them thinking he was ready for the big leagues. But these modern cars and the pirellis need time to learn. That only comes with seat time.
Even Max himself had seasons in Torro Rosso to learn before jumping into a Redbull, and that was when the cars did not have ground effects and weigh a ton.
Yuki will do better than Lawson, and it wont be because of talent. It will be because of experience and understanding the formula and how the increasingly sensitive Pirellis work. The same could not be said of Perez, who was in his prime in a previous generation of car and simply had to adapt and relearn to understand ground effect cars. Yuki's advantage is his youth and his experience. He will be out of Q1 and into Q3 I am certain (provided the team don't mess up the strategy).
What I expect to see is:
1. The myth of the redbull being this alien difficult car to be dispelled, as a young fast and experience driver will be in the second car to bring things into perspective.
2. Yuki pressuring Max, and possibly outqualifying him in Suzuka.
3. Yuki also possibly crashing because of the spotlight at his home race.
4. Max giving interesting feedback about the car not being good enough.
Another opportunity for redbull is to delay their Ford Engine till 2027, or even the 2028 V10 engine, if Honda agrees to stay with them provided Yuki stays in the second seat for 2026.
