Ferrari still pushing for 3rd car

Post

This is really annoying! What does Domenicali and Montezemolo think they are? God's golden boys born with a silver spoon and pampered forever? This borders on demented. They should have their heads examined.

We have a situation where Sauber is desperately trying to keep a team with hundreds of people employed and Ferrari want more priviledges like 3rd cars.

This is the team that secretly controlled the rules of F1 for 10 years by conspiracy/blackmailing with FIA/FOM. Would it not be time to eat a bit of humble pie and let other teams compete on an equal basis? Do we allways have to watch races that are tweaked to Ferrari's advantage before the first wheel even turns in Australia or Barhain?

This is so ridiculous! Why do the other teams put up with those pompous self inflated megalomaniacs? I wish they get the next car totally wrong and Alonso can park his treasured red toy after Q1 every time. Perhaps then we will get a bit of humility and normality from the prancing ponies.

NO! NO! NO! F1 is FErrari and would never exist without it... Actually it should be an all Ferrari spec series and then it would be great like A1GP.

The tracks barely have the support for 26 F1 cars, let alone 29 (if Sauber get in + Shumy). Whilst I'd adore a Shumacher return, we don't need 3 Ferraris.

Ferrari are entering a new and illustrious 'Latin' period in their history where they've now got rid of most of those annoying people who won them championships, but were far, far too sensible.

For one I have never imagined that Ferrari gained a secret veto from the 2005 power struggle. That they would publicly complain about withdrawal of the booty is strong tobacco.

The best for F1 would be a period of mediocre cars by Ferrari and a more distributed chance to win like we see this year.

you mean like the period from 1980 through to the end of 1996?

I quite like a third car option. With no testing allowed, it would be fantastic to have that 3rd car on track to do a testing run in a GP and give test drivers the mileage they need to be useful. The 3rd car should not be allowed to score points of course but can be deployed tactically, perhaps to do a Piquet...

that would spice things up

Yep, that would be very pleasing. Considering that we will have a period of relative rule stability and Ferrari have already made sure they have a funding advantage it will not be very likely though. But the thought has a lot of appeal.
