Yeap and from next year with the new rules MB with the new monster engine will take everything.
Maybe its better to stop watching F1 for some years?

It might be Ferrari who is ahead in the engine stakes. Who knows.
Might change your mind because the flavour of dominance is a different colour.

@Fakepivot:
Miami is right after Jeddah, so not a big deal or decisive to bring a bigger upgrade right afterwards. It’s not like Ferrari is a donkey of a car now.

@deadhead
Monaco is at round 8 of 24. Saying that McLaren will have the WCC wrapped up by that time is a bit of a stretch, don’t you think?

To be fair. It was Miami (R6) last year when McL got their update and Max still won WDC. Trying to come from behind can be tough.

If the updates are Spain, it will be tough. It's not like Merc (Imola), RBR (Imola and Spain) and McL (no clue) aren't going to improve too.

Personally i will keep dreaming that the team will fix its quirks and with some 1-2 or 1-3 in some races the gap will reduced to minimum :)

Fastest car with two strong drivers? shouldn’t be a problem.

Maybe not mathematically, but the gap will be big enough to effectively not worry about it anymore and concentrate on the WDC situation.

Maybe if Ferrari didn’t double DSQ and had a few podiums it would be different.

Ferrari 1-2 this coming Sunday might give some hope so let’s see but I doubt it

I'm not sure about the 26 engine to be honest. The silence and Ferrari wanting V10s is not a good sign. And if the PU is bad then Ferrari will need to build the best chassis and have the best aero. I just don't have much confidence :cry:
So far everyone is acting like it will be an engine formula in 26 but maybe it won’t? There is nothing ground breaking about the next engines and ers imo. So maybe aero and suspension setup will rule the day once again.

Does Hamilton know something that we don't? If Merc's engine will be supreme, why did he leave?

I imagine the writing was on the wall for Hamilton with Kimi. I know his contract was a 1+1 but I am not sure if Merc also had an option on the +1.

Maybe Ferrari have cooked with their engine, maybe not. The Alpine decision would point to Merc being ahead. You'd have to assume they were pitched by Ferrari as well so they most likely saw some performance numbers.

Doing the rounds now, is that Petronas have issues with their biofuel, and that one manufacturer, not, Mercedes, have aced the engine.

I suspect Ferrari and Shell have aced the ICE and the electrical power.
Ferrari's strong endurance racing presence with hybrid cars is benefiting them. Mercedes doesnt have that industry knowledge right now.
As I mentioned in a other thread 50% of the power is electric. The potential will be in the electric power modes and delivery and how light and small and reliable these electric components can be.
Lewis must have an idea what to expect in 2026 so much so he is willing to get whooped by Charles for a year. The active aero is another factor. That's anyones gain. Newey maybe will have the edge there.
For Sure!!
