 That is not a Joe Saward interview, the original is a Peter Windsor press release that has been around the web today, it had me fooled for a while too, but those pictures could have been taken anywhere. A CNC-machine, an empty autoclave and a fake-keyboard?

On a more serious note, we do see really very little equipment here, and what they're showing pales tremendously to what existing teams have. Now, I don't doubt that they can produce a car, but with a single small autoclave, just as an example, I think they'll have a hard time just keeping pieces on their car through a season, much less develop it in any significant way.

But yes, this is just the beginning. They will get more equipment and staff as they go, and I doubt if the other new teams are any better off at the moment. I do question, however, their judgement in releasing these photos. I mean, the F1 press, fans, and sponsors have become accustomed to seeing the powerhouse facilities of the existing teams, and so when I see here what they're working with, I can't help but think 'lord help them'.

From AutoSport:
The FIA has been impressed by the work carried out by the US F1 team ahead of its debut season in 2010.

An FIA representative visited the team's factory in Charlotte in August and again earlier this week and said the American squad is progressing very well.

"I personally visited the US F1 Team in August as well as this week, and I am impressed with the progress made by the organization since the Concorde Agreement was signed in late July," Nick Craw, the FIA's deputy president for sport, told Autoweek.

"It has all come together very quickly for the team, and we welcome them into Formula 1 competition in 2010."

is this a picture to show progress and attract sponsors?

I believe these guys have something more than a mac with a funny f1 car screensaver. Besides, as far as I understood from american culture, the bigger the better.

The whole blog worth reading

Would like to know if the guy that writes that blog is or not American. It makes fun of things such as the Americans knowledge of world geography, the bigger the better and we-are-more-manly kinds of stuff.

Yes, many of them doesnt know about geography, some think that Rio is the capital of the South American country, for the love of pete! But they just learn what they need to instead of being just erudites.

I will support USF1 sending them some percentage of the taxes I pay if Jose Maria Lopez drives for them next year...

Well, it seems either a) they couldn't afford office space and had to work at IKEA, b) they're posing with a cardboard computer for publicity, or c) I have Photoshop and some free time at work.

Won it all by ourselves AND recapitalized the entire continent with the Marshall Plan, yes. And we remain the world's #1 arms manufacturer so if you want to see a very fast US plane in action just provoke us a tiny bit.

Thanks for the info. Still, I like the 3 golden exhausts.

What are the chances of this being another Toyota - loads of cash but wrong location for technical know-how "pub-sharing" between mates?

Don't forget that goes around comes around, and if the $1.4 trillion deficit is claimed, that's the end of line.

Why not Esteban Guerrieri? He seems a good driver.
