The whole Verstappen era Red Bull was the team that always pounced at every opportunity, even when they had an inferior car, they would make great calls, great pit stops and punch above their weight... we are a long way from that these days.

I think you’re confused. I know the conversation you are referring to. As I said, it was sarcasm. If Max and Red Bull had the faster car, Piastri wouldn’t have seen which way he went in Jeddah.

Yep, 19 points away now. It's starting to look unreasonable to contend. The 12 point gap was artificial. In the long run that kind of margin isn't sustainable with this car. No matter how many mistakes the Mclaren drivers make, they are still on the podium every weekend. Red Bull don't have anything big planned for Imola. The car still needs something "Big" to be able to compete. There are many more circuits like this coming up. You simply cannot contend by being good on only a third of the tracks on the calendar when Mclaren is good on every single one.

The TD has to take something away from the Mclaren or it's done.

Even with an improved RB21 the MCL will always be there fighting in the top 3, big points swings for Max will be hard to come by. RB are still bamboozled by MCL tire performance, if that is a gap they can't bridge it will be tough even with the TD and an equally performant car.

Red Bull found a better set up overnight and made changes to Yuki's car. Looks like it worked well and Max will also a set up change.
