Lando screwed himself on the last corner by being greedy.
Last corner has nothing on whatever happened in sector 1, he lost .164s though of course it doesn't help.
They have been weak-er compared to RedBull in S1 all weekend. They were poor in the last runs, but a 28.3 was the best they could pull off. They lose almost a tenth to RedBull in T6, its actually insane. Maybe that new floor is putting it in the work.

Anyway, Lando definitely lost pole in T17 though, because as expected, S2 is complete McLaren territory :

Horner thinks it’s Red Bulls bigger wing giving them the advantage in S1

They did say that they've chosen more downforce on the first part but then that means that their top speed will be down.

Does anyone know of an upgrade package that Mclaren might be preparing to fix these issues of the car and make the Mclaren get the upper hand that they deserve?
They've said a few times they are developing changes to help remedy the lack of feedback at the front.

It's clear the car gives them little warning before the lock up. Wether it is enough for a driver to reliably drive at the limit, I'm not sure. Right now it seems not.

The car makes life hard for the drivers in some corners, I'm not sure how much is in their power to drive around it.

that last corner by Lando was a bit amateurish, I think he wanted to play it safe and overdid it

anyway he has all the cards to win tomorrow

Lando also made a mistake at T1 exit, from looking at the telemetry.

After recent weeks, lando needed to manage it. He could have maybe done better, but he got it round and this time beat his teammate.

Stella said the car should have locked out the front row.
He’s confident for tomorrow but I’m less so. Max will make sure he’s leading after lap one and he’ll kill the Mclarens in S1 then the tyres on the Mclaren will degrade quicker in the dirty air.
Looking forward to it though.

T17 Lando made mistakes on both Q3 laps. Didn't brake enough on his first Q3 run and had to apply mid corner. Then overcompensated next corner.

T1 might be the car, T17 is poor driving, twice.

Piastri went slower in Q3 than he done in Q2, his Q2 time an exact match to Norris 26.269

This is obvious to most...but to some it's still a mystery.
It doesn't turn.

Didn’t know both Mclarens are under investigation for driving too slowly in Q1?

Have you ever considered that the car might need something more to be able to consistently locking the front row unlocking that stability and not choosing when to be consistent? I dont see where it is obvious when the same thing happened in every single Q3. I dont see why must we all repeat this narrative of the mighty Max and the useless Mclaren drivers.
