absurd he managed to improve S1 even with a little correction in T1, and then a miracle in S2
Only sector 1 was televized and after that moment in turn 1 he took 100% risk the rest of the sector 1, he made it stick.

I feel very sad that the team blundered him out of 5 points today. Possibly 6 if they undercut Norris.

But, Max is looking happy, so better be that too. What a racer!

It's a long season, no point getting bogged down on 5 points. He can make it back and more tomorrow given where Oscar starts, provided that the race pace is good.

Great job, still think mclarens have a good 2 tenths but still pole is pole.
I think both Mclaren and Mercedes are quicker, but driver makes the difference.
Really? even after purple sectors in all three qualifying sessions. :P
For Sure!!

critical points for tomorrow:
start: Lando is not Oscar, but could anyway send the car and force Max off
tyre deg: McLaren should be superior, let's see
straight speed: Max will be vulnerable in S3

It can set purple S1 in 50 straight sessions, it will still be slower than the Macca across the whole lap.

They may be using the older power units unlike Merc PUs and their new ones turned up. There is rain forecast for tomorrow. Perhaps RBR have set up for tomorrow and sacrificed some top end for better traction and tyre wear.

Yuki on the other hand clearly doesn't have the confidence to send it, super tentative in turns 7, 12 and turn 17. Doesn't ride the kerb at all on 15. That's where he's visibly slow compared to others watching the onboards. Hopefully he can keep it clean and make up some places in the race.

Easy win tomorrow. They will never overtake on track.

Well we've seen T1 can be a problem and the red bull starts much worse than McLaren this year

tyre deg will be key, if Max's tyres fade away it'll be an easy overtake for Norris

the start will be critical too

plenty of unknowns for tomorrow, there's no easy win
