Also if our earlier speculation is correct then adapting the system comes with a drag (and possibly weight?) penalty.

So even if RedBull introduces the "tyre temp manager", then better race pace will come at the cost of some peak performance. Which is generally a good trade-off, but still could be a factor. McLaren seems already faster in ultimate pace even with their tyre cooling solution and it can get even worse.
Or maybe RedBull already runs with some experimental version (which would explain their weak straight line performance in Miami?

Next two races will be very important for the outlook of the rest of the season. If RedBull delivers and puts their car to be at least on par with McLaren, Max can still make the difference as a driver. He is only 32 points back at the moment.

If they don't have an insider telling them what McLaren is doing it strikes me as unlikely they will have figured it out and developed their own version this fast. That's not to say they have an insider, that's to say I doubt this rumoured upgrade is real. Also, let's not forget this is a sensitive area with the brakes and tyres. It could have really bad consequences if they bring something new which they don't fully understand yet, both in terms of performance and reliability.

I agree but you are really sounds like the pandeminc experts . "The next two weeks will be crucial"

And we all know that we stuck inside for 1 year :D :D :D :D :D

In Imola Max could deliver the pole, then in race it's not so easy to overtake, but it's not impossible, we'll have to see what advantage McLaren will have, also depends on the weather we'll find, still unclear.

Monaco in another story, the difficulties the McLaren duo are having in quali can open the door to competitors, but is RB21 able to pole in Monaco ?

The tires allocated for Imola is C4, C5 and C6 (new softest in the range). C6 is new and getting debuted in Imola. I doubt it would live for a entire full blast quali lap. At this point, rain is predicted for the entire weekend. If it just rains overnight, then it would take away the rubber from the track, which would then make it even more difficult to keep that tire alive for an entire lap. Considering the compounds are softest in the Pirelli range, it would be difficult to keep the tires cooler when being pushed by a McLaren from behind. Max may not manage to keep a McLaren as long as he managed in Miami.

Monaco is another story. It's all slow corners and McLaren has strength in that part also. W16 is the next best in those type of corners.

We fans usually are way behind in time of current team status of tech developments. So I wonder how far along Red Bull (or any other team) is with understanding McLarens "thermostat" tyre cooling technique. Maybe they pretty much know what's going on by this time and have already asked FIA if their own solution or development direction would be legal. Which could FIA have prompted to take (another) close look at McLarens solution on sunday night after the Miami race. Just to make sure they haven't missed anything before all teams start developing, cause it's quite a game changer to be able to put your rivals on min 40s on sunday with this "thermostate" tyre temp controlling technique. It would be quite spectacular if FIA backtracks on this topic too and realize they actually don't want massive developments in this area which could also be usable in 2026 and beyond.

In F1, by the time a theory hits YouTube, the frontrunners are already working on the next iteration. Top teams like Red Bull almost certainly identified and evaluated this concept months ago, I wouldn't be surprised if, by the time we get to Imola, Red Bull have their own solution.

I don't think Christian Horner is going anywhere, not with the latest Oliver Oakes stories.
It doesn't turn.

I agree, I was considering a Dewar flask/thermos like arrangement weeks ago so I'm certain Red Bullmust have as well with their quick developments. There are clues like taping off holes etc so it's only a matter of time. Red Bull conceivably doesn't have to develop anything and can run proposed ideas by the FIA to know what is and isn't allowed. Question is does the FIA even know what McLaren has ...

I brace myself for a disappointment. Feels like it won't be easy to copy.

Last year McL already had good tyre wear and RB wasn't able to find out and develop anything over the winter after the thermal imaging evidence.

Fact Marko was saying in Imola they will have closed the gap is likely politics. They want to signal to McL they cannot slack on the 2025 car and shoukd not yet go full in on developing the 2026 car.

According to Autoracer:
Right in Milton Keynes, as we have already had the opportunity to report, they are working on trying to replicate what McLaren believed it could do, with sensitive parts that could already see the track in one of the next races even if Verstappen was very vague in Miami about it. "We are doing our best to solve this problem. But some things take more time, also to understand them thoroughly. Then producing them is a whole other story".

This suggest this might take longer than Imola. Max is already 30+ points behind, this could go beyond 50 by the end of the triple-header, then it might get too late, even if they nail it for the first time. Which is unlikely.

I am not sure why people should be optimistic about the WDC at this point. Even after last race, hoping for a fix that will magically make Red Bull the quickest car is just delusion.

If Red Bull can, on merit win races like Ferrari last year again, I think I will be very happy, especially if that also happens to be a track where the Maccas excel because going into next year I fully expect Red Bull to have positive momentum if they can win multiple races on merit.

I am sure people have many opinions on the engine front but unlike others, I don't think RBPT will be terrible. It won't be class of the field but it won't be too far behind. I believe it will be within enough margin that'll allow Red Bull to compensate with aero.

True but Red Bull also ran into their own set of problems. I don't think it's possible to catch McLaren's but also I don't think it's a fair comparison.
