Because it’s racing. Let them race. WhileFittingMechanics wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 16:31So, my view is the following.
Norris would accept a swap with a return to PIA if he can't get VER.
PIA would get most likely a better result with a swap (P2) rather than P3 which is what he will get if he fights his teammate.
The team maximizes their points, you either get P1 and P3 or P2 and P3.
Why not do it? It's so obvious.
Overmanaging? I'm sure it is "much better" to watch a inevitable tire differential overtake between teammates than a potential fight for the lead between NOR and VER?Hoffman900 wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 16:32Because it’s racing. Let them race. While
I get it, it’s a racing series. The over managing is just terrible and it’s been a criticism of F1 for 30 years now, and partly what was killing the sport.
It's like we have PIA team and NOR team, not one McLaren. It's truly insane.Tvetovnato wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 16:34So essentially McLaren pitted Norris to be able to have a great chance to overtake…. Drumroll… Piastri! Who he was already ahead of before they stopped him.
If you pit Norris, you do it to have a great chance to do something at the restart, which can only be to try to overtake Max. So how can you not come to the conclusion that the first thing you do is to swap the drivers straight away to try to achieve that? Norris pit stop now only meant that he had to fight Piastri, which was totally unnecessary from a team pov.

Lando was falling behind Max even after passing Oscar.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 16:35Overmanaging? This. The whole narrative that Redbull is slow, especially with their upgrades, needs to be thrown out the window.
When you say lucked you mean knows how to save his tyres? Piastri wasn't able to save his tyres, had to pit earlier and then wasn't able to move through the field.
Not a hope Lando accepts to swap back. Especially when he was always overtaking him.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 16:31So, my view is the following.

It's only one race but yesterday AR3 already observed that the theoretical laptimes of Max and Oscar were very close (unlike races before). Red Bull was quicker in the race today. It seems like a step forward.Hoffman900 wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 16:38This. The whole narrative that Redbull is slow, especially with their upgrades, needs to be thrown out the window.
Oscar just BARELY beat Max to pole and the RB had great race pace today.
