Last year the car was super dominant in Zaandvoort, Singapore and Hungary.

In Monaco it was right behind Leclerc. I think it's quite likely it will be the fastest car in race pace, but who knows if they can qualify ahead to make it work.

In Imola they tested a new high downforce rear wing so they are ready.
In Monaco '24 it was also most likely the fastest over one lap. Piastri was the fastest on theoreticals but could not put all his better sectors together. And Norris was compromised by that incident with a banner in Q1 where he had to stop and burn extra set of new softs, so he was left with only one new set in Q3. It wouldn't be also unreasonable to assume Leclerc made a bit of difference individually as a Monaco specialist.
The reality is Mclaren had a car to win all races since Miami '24 bar Vegas. There is no reason to believe their car would not suddenly be good enough to win in Monaco this year.
Piastri also said that while he could be fast in either S2 or S3, he could not be fast in both because of the trade offs in the way they were driven. So for Monaco last year the theoretical fastest lap is just that. It was something the drivers, or at least one of them, said was impossible in practice.

McLaren running a slightly modified livery for Monaco. Far from their previous specials, but a lot more papaya on the sidepods and engine cover.

Side profile looks much nicer! Just another victim of the weight limit margins ruining liveries when viewed from above.

I believe they are running it in Spain too. They must not have to change much on the front wing then =P~

They have no idea and are taking the spaghetti at the wall approach. A jaundiced eye could review that and infer a bit of panic and frustration from them.

A new race is coming and it's my favorite GP of all time. The team has to go and fully focus on making it an 1-2 to bounce back from the loss at Imola.

Last year Max struggled in Qualifying finishing only 5th. I cant say the same thing will happen this year but hoping for the best result from papaya.

In the meantime I saw news from a British reporter that Lando Norris is facing depression and psychological problems from the media and all that pressure of the championship and he's thinking of taking a sabbatical from F1. Anyone know anything about it?

I wouldn't want to cast any shade on our esteemed F1 press, but whilst RB are going all in on trying to get some regs to pull us back, articles like these and most of the others are little more than giant wooden spoons, stirring the pot and serving up some hot clickbait.

Your favourite GP?

Granted the Saturday is brilliant but the race is a procession.

I think it has to do that I had and still have from the 90s the Super Monaco GP from Tiger Games and the Mega Drive Cartridge as also Senna having 6 wins there.

I don't understand how could anyone call 2022 and 2023 races a procession. They were amazing by any standards, let alone by Monaco standards. Not every race in Monaco is like last year's race.
