Leclerc is pushing like it's qualifying. Crazy stuff, he is kissing the walls.

Leclerc's engine seems turned up right off the bat. It's the right thing to do. Go into qualifying mindset all the way, forget about race pace and tyre deg.
The mechanicals of the car seems good, they're just limited when highspeed and higher loads comes into play.

Baku, Monaco, Jeddah. Any track that rewards bravery... Leclerc will be there. Whatever part of the brain that's responsible for fear must not exist.

seems ok so far on pace. just 1 tenth behind so within margin of error

Ham needs to improve turn 1. I hope they leave the car overnight, it seems well balanced for now..

If anyone has a clip of the driver's best laps from this session please share if possible, my Internet isn't working enough to load the native F1 player and I'd love to see them. :D

this already happened, though. Leclerc's best sectors were half a second faster.

edit: sorry, it was not. My mistake, I mixed up the numbers.

The car is better than usual but McL is still miles better. We need a crazy lap in Q3 and a huge disasterclass from Piastri and Norris.

One thing that makes me laugh/thinking. The best Ferrari, from the 2000 to 2004, were absolutely mediocre in Monaco compared to the their average performance. :D

These days are the exact opposite. Even a terrible car like the SF 25 looks somewhat competitive in this hilarious track.

what do you say Mclaren are better? Piastri went a bit after the two Ferrari's and still couldnt go faster than Charles

Check McLaren gaps in FP2 and FP3 last year and compare them to Q3 (where Piastri never put the whole lap together)

McLaren has retained its caffeine jitter, it's not as smooth in the turns if the conditions aren't perfect.
Ferrari to me look more docile, but the pace is coming from somewhere. Maybe it's docile but not bouncing as much and the drivers can ride the curbs better.
Max is also a threat. He just needs another practice session to dial things in. Then in Q3 he's going to nail that final sector harder than anyone else. It's just how the redbull cars work, they find something more in Q3 final run.

All in all things look good for Ferrari, they just need to keep their noses clean for qualy and not shoot themselves in the foot for the 2 stop strategy.
For Sure!!

I agree, Ferrari seems to be pushing more PU/Fuel (I know that doesn't really matter in Monaco, but the gaps are small). I expect McL pole, but 2-3 is up for grabs for Charles. We haven't seen anything from Max yet, and Merc seem cast away, so if Ferrari put everything together, they could have two cars in the top 5.

It is a nice surprise, and I am optimistic, but we should keep perspective not to get destroyed if the other close up in Q1.

We have a very small chance.
We need everything to go perfect, specifically making Q3 first.
Then:
- A perfect lap
- At least small mistakes from McL/ RB
