Pole sitter Lando Norris has taken the victory at this year's Monaco Grand Prix. Although Leclerc and Piastri finished closely behind the race, including two stops was perfectly under Norris' control from start to finish, leading to his first win at the principality.
I think the third hard/medium is redundant. You go, fresh set - fresh set - old soft, once you've put your final set on you are pretty much frozen in position so it doesn't really matter. Soft will do the job for a quick undercut.
For all this discussion, I expect no SC, VSC etc. Just a typical Monaco race, some overcuts to pass and some pitstop errors to cause some change in order......
The top 4 will be the top 4 unless something crazy happens. The interesting thing will be the stategy within the top 4. If Leclerc and Verstappen stay on the back of the McLaren cars it will hard to cover every possible contingency.
Definitely makes it tough for McLaren. Since they can’t use 2 cars to cover a position off. Oscar can’t slow to protect Norris as leaves Charles behind Norris.
Time will see how good the McLaren strategy team is and how good they are thinking on their feet.
This will be chaos. I do not think there is a premeditated strategy, the teams will be running forecasts in real time based on the circulation and pace of all 20 cars. Haas or Sauber can use slow down tactics to ensure one of their cars get a point too. So that will make things crazier.
I am expecting a mid fielder or back marker crash to cause further confusion. Anyone who wins this race will not win on driving or merit, just fortune.
Watching the F2 and F3 sprints yesterday and the F3 feature race start this morning, the drivers are not even bothering with making the first corner. The race director needs to step up for ---'s sake.
