Yeah I think this was how Mclaren would own the race, through a deg advantage and Lando's tyre management. Run a decent pace to push other cars enough, keep them in dirty air and then use tyre life that others don't have to get the gap.

That was the right think to do for Piastri. Bring these tyres in as the others got hurt I think, then hope he can push and close that gap. He would have been pushing to get close to Lec, the fact that he couldn't do much was not because he was backing anyone up, but because he didn't have the pace.
