Great weekend by Norris. Got the pole, got the win, really managed it well.

Piastri did not have that good of a weekend. He didn't have pace to challenge Leclerc, if he was able to follow him he could have undercut him.
Agree, Lando was perfect all weekend. Think lot though it might have been Oscars chance to find the rhythm in the McLaren. But didn't seem close to it all weekend, lots of little mistakes that seem unlike Oscar.

Good job! First win in Monaco since Alonso in '07!
Hamilton in '08
Utter brain fart on my part, just sort of assumed since '07 was the last pole it was the last win too. Just goes to show what kind of race Monaco is, I guess...

Lando has momentum now and more confidence. 3 points to Oscar. Max falls back by more points. Russell has two poor weekends. Things looking up for Lando. Piastri is the man if Lando has issues, but once Lando feels good he's hard to beat.
For Sure!!

Lando won which is great but, we can all agree that this race was made worse with the mandatory 2 stopper.
I'm not sure it is worse. It opened up some strategies. But I am not sure that major strategy being "slow down the pack so your teammate can pit" is beneficial. Not sure what can be done. It's just too hard to overtake.

Maybe they should make it that overlapped cars are out of the race. It would put a limit how hard you can slow down the pack.

Or just drop the track.

The race would have been horrible either way. It's time for this track to go out of the F1 calendar. It is not compatible with racing for these cars and if we are being honest, it hasn't been for a long time. Could turn it into a special event with half points but make it quali-only if they really want to keep it in the calendar, but a 78 lap procession does not belong on the F1 calendar as its own feature race.

I dont mind Monaco as a one off race, even with the gimmicks.

Lando was supreme, it's the drivers we know he can do, similar to Singapore and Zandvoort.

3 points is nothing, especially when you consider the narratives - Lando sh&t and Oscar amazing. ( from some, not all)

Also, Max did nothing wrong.

All well that ends well. 1-3 and Max out of podium. Now some things that I noticed. Max did not slow down on the yellow flags and tried to pass Piastri which is forbidden under yellows. No penalty. Then even though the Red Flag rule exists I find if unsportsmanlike for Red Bull to exploit it hoping for an accident to have an extra pit stop. Nothing fortunately happened and all ended well. Fantastic work from both drivers handling all the situations that appeared.

I was expecting a red or racing bull in the wall in the last 10 laps.

It was scary. I was ranting all the time, expecting a fixed accident from a Racing Bull car or Stroll to give a free Red Flag tyre change. Thank god nothing happened.

My congratulations to Lando, Oscar and the team! Today is our holiday! Bravo!!!

By the way, it seemed to me that the front wing did not bent much. It is better to see this moment.

i did have to check where the racing Bulls were, but they were high enough so no silly business was really on the cards. Anyways, back on track, good stuff. I tend to believe the team when they said the front wing was already Spain compliant

Well, it was the same; so worse by raising our expectations.
The one positive is that they talked more about the new rule than trying to blow smoke up our rear-ends about how great the "spectacle" is. It was insufferable last year.

We should post Stella's words about the Barcelona stage here

Sergej
Sky Italy commentator said they spoke with Andrea Stella who told them off records "I'm looking forward to Barcelona to show we will demolish them" they are confident it won't change a thing.
