The Mercedes wing still has quite a bit of play.
have those new flex checks happened already, or is it part of the post race inspection only?

why would they need a hard AND a medium for the race? The rule is to use 2 compounds during a dry race. If you use soft, you can use hard OR medium.
it goes down to a different rule:

"Two (2) sets of the mandatory race specification(s) may not be returned before the race. For the avoidance of doubt, if there are two (2) mandatory race tyre specifications, one (1) set of each specification may not be returned before the race."

The "mandatory race specification(s)" are always lined up in the Pirelli event notes before the weekend:

And as far as I can remember, they have never not been medium & hard.
That doesn't change what I said. That you can't return them, doesn't mean you can't use them in FP3. Put 20 laps on one of the mandatory tyres, keep them for sunday, but don't use them on sunday, because you use 2 other compounds.

Mclaren nasty oversteer for Norris in high speeds.
Piastri on the other hand

yeah, of course, they can run all tires (apart from the Q3 set) in FP1 already, if they like. It just doesn't make sense.

Wouldn’t be the first time McLaren have done FP3 glory runs.

What's up with Mclaren doing these aggressive simulations whether it's Quali or Race?

Yeah but Max was the only one keeping the season alive. And is nearly a second from Mclaren, you cant make that time in qualy back even if its just engine modes. We have no chance, sorry buddy, would like to bo proven wrong though.

Why is it aggressive? It's more than 1s off pole times from last year.
Call a spade, a spade.

Norris is not 5 tenths off of Piastri

You don't know what setup they were testing. Also he was on used softs.

That's because the car bottomed at turn 9 and he aborted his attempt with fresh softs. His final run was with used softs.

Sorry, but these times are exaggerated due to how Mclaren run their simulations. Max will be much closer to the Mclaren come qualifying and you could say maybe Russell as well.

so all the top teams out on new medium means they are committing to do one stint on soft ? given it'll be a two stops race...
that's the case for everyone but LEC (and the Haas) indeed now
