The team commented that the soft is not a bad race tire.

Mostly top 4 will start on softs but Ferarri's might start on Mediums as they don't have fresh softs, so its interesting to see the two different strategies work.

People continue to knock lando, it seems he will always be 'that' kind of driver people like to diminish perhaps because of how he is as a person it makes him an easier target become he generally gives more.
In my opinion he is the best driver at mclaren and right near the very top at the f1 grid and that's enough for me and will likely be enough for him to win the wdc this year. A so called terrible year from lando, tons of mistakes and he's still 3pts off top spot.
Onto today. First corner I fear carnage max MUST try something otherwise he knows the mclarens are gone. One of the mclarens MUST guard the inside line otherwise that's where max will put it and then squeeze the two mclarens into each other going into turn 2. Both cars despite being at the front are in very high jeopardy positions.
I don't hide the fact I'm a lando fan and from his perspective he must not allow a car to come between himself and Oscar as this will give oscar the time and space to scarper into the distance as has happened in a couple of races. I think today is Oscars biggest test of tyre management.
Aside from that I'm expecting ferrari to be fast perhaps fast enough to beat max.
There's always going to be polarising opinions on this driver and that. There's been so much garbage written on this in my opinion. I prefer to look at each driver's strengths and weaknesses. I agree that there is arguably still a (diminishing) pace advantage to Lando (a) in a race where tyre deg is high, and (b) when he gets calm and hooks everything up. I'd say (a) will be his strength today. A lot of the time (b) is missing, but it's a very even driver match up. It's why it's one of the big stories in F1 2025 across the board - which McLaren driver will win. If it wasn't a close match up we wouldn't see so much interest continuing to dominate the media.

24 Minutes till the start. It's hot today like yesterday but Max might have the upper hand due to the huge straight and his 3rd position TOW that he will gonna get. Our drivers have to block him at all costs.

Yes just moments ago the track temp was 50c, now it dropped back to 49c but it's still very hot.

I'm more concerned about that huge TOW that Max will have. There is a possibility of one or maybe both Mclarens might be passed till turn one. We must keep that 1-2 on first turn as it won't be certain we will surely pass Max during the race. While it's hot it's not guaranteed it will work.

It shouldn't matter at all, whether Mclarens come out first out of T1. Even if both McLarens come out P3 and P4, they have enough oomph in race pace and tyre life, to breeze into P1-P2 either by passing or via undercut/overcut. This race is Miami part2.

Nothing indicates that the same will happen 100%. The cars changed since then. Who's to say that Red Bull haven't fixed that tyre problem or mitigated it?

Relax, Oscar has the first chance :D
If they play smart this should be a McLaren 1-2. Imo is similar with Zandvoort '24 in strategy terms. A P1 lost at the start will ask patience from Oscar/Lando. The win will come.

Let's keep it clean firstly and try emerge the first lap in a 1 and 2 position.

Solid possibility max is looking behind him today with ferrari having great race pace especially charles.

PIASTRI v NORRIS | 2025 Barcelona Qualifying
It's crazy, like seeing doubles. I think I noticed just one corner where Lando had a slight wiggle, but other than that, it was undiscernible or indiscernible.

Personally, I do not get the argument over drivers. I only care if we finish 1-2 and I don't care what order. There is no "I" in T-E-A-M.

Important now to pass Max before Leclerc pass Hamilton :)

EDIT: not the case, team orders in Ferrari
