Re: 2025 Aston Martin | Aramco F1 Team

Post

I think Fernando is a stoic, and he behaves as such when he's done his best and things aren't working out. If after several intense, risky attempts to get things out of nowhere... nothing comes out ... well, then, that's it: a beach lounger for sunbathing, messing with the TV cameras... it's the anger of a bored genius. In fact, he's behaving very well now; he cares about this going well above all else.

I suppose he's confident because now he has a good team behind him. They need to be given time because, although they're tremendous professionals and it's not impossible that the car could suddenly change for the better... just in case, it's better to give them some time.

By the way, I'd like them to take a good look at the front suspension geometry. The car's bottom end and aerodynamics are very important. But ever since McL worked the miracle last season and that little thing was changed (apart from other things, yes, this is where I get confused), since then... Hmm...

From what I've seen, Pirelli plans to introduce new compounds at Spa. Apparently, they're interested in a new medium. I'm scared of them. If it weren't for this whole thing, I think Spa would be a good track to observe Drugovich and start getting to know him.

P.S.: Thanks so much for the graphics, Diffuser.

if i remember correctly there is gonna be stuff regarding the front suspension. I'm pretty sure the front suspension geometry hasn't changed from last year and we went pretty aggressive with the anti dive

I've thought about that ...Now the width and length of the car next year is all different. At first I thought they were gonna just make the stuff that goes in the nose(and rear casing). I guess they can make the upper and lower A Arms, doesn't seem to be alot to manufacture there. I kind of be surprised if they change the geometry to that point....

What you think ?

i'm not nuanced in that aspect of a formula 1 car. all i can remember is mercedes last year during pre season testing. tested more anti dive at the front since they made it adjustable and the drivers complained during the feedback.

Mclaren have adjusted front suspension quite a lot over the ground effect era and seem to have found something. Hopefully we can as well

I am the biggest supporter there could be of Alonso, but this year is the first time he starts to show signs of wear.....he is so talented that he can still manage races better than most, but raw speed is fading.
Raw speed is fading? What evidence is there to support that statement? Stroll has been Alonso's benchmark since 2023 and is no closer in qualifying or in overall race pace. I apologise if I am mistaken, but I believe you were the one who said that "2012 Alonso would be fighting with the Ferraris and Mercedes." This car is more than half a second slower in race pace than them. Pace is relative to the quality of the car.
Come on be realistic....2012 Alonso would be behind Stroll in points?
The speed is fading, alot.
This Alonso is just a shadow of prime Alonso. Prime Alonso took Ferrari to podium almost every race despite car being slower to RB, Mercedes, McLaren sometimes even Lotus(Renault).....so prime Alonso would take this AM to podium also
You didn't watch any race this year... Did you?

My god.

I think, how bad the car has been, has made him look silly at times. We saw in Spain how the hards, when everyone else is on softs and mediums, can make a very good car (Max) look Jr. too. It resembled very much what happened to Alonso on the post safety car restart ...was it Bahrain ? He made out of the last corned and got a ton of wheel spin and fell back like 2 or 3 positions.

Hahaha, you guys are such a bunch of characters...

It was great. I understood the Valvoline thing quickly. The mustache thing took me a lot longer. Hahaha, in the end, this is a good English school.

I'll see if the car has improved. And I'll see if I can find out anything about what they've changed..

Alonso's fastest S1 and S2 times where often abandoned in S3. On a couple of times cause of oversteer on the hair pin. Once cause of Albon. Others cause they felt like it. They're faster than the times showed.

I'm surprised by how much dust there seems to be on the asphalt. Nothing interesting in P1. We'll see now...

Looks like Alonso may qualify on mediums again. He (as the only driver) used four sets of softs already, at least, and kept all harder options.

You get 8 sets of softs for the weekend , you can only carry 4 to Quali.

Where is stroll ?
