turn 14 Max is 0cm away from the wall ,he is taking risks and coming out of it unscathed its just not about car or driving talent its about precision .maybe spending countless hours on sim helps with that.
You do understand that 0 centimeters means that he simply crashed into it, what kind of precision are you talking about? #-o

He himself does not share anything. He has admitted as much with Perez.
The team are free to share data of course.
But driver to driver tips m. Never heard of that from Max.
That's like the default standard in F1. Drivers will typically not go out of their way to help their teammate. So long as Max isn't making any kind of fuss trying to block the other driver from getting his data, then nothing he's doing here is particularly selfish or abnormal.
Which is what I said if you read what I wrote. He does not share, and that's what's expected. He cannot block the data either, even if he wanted to. The engineers decide what is disseminated to the drivers.
For Sure!!

By the way, how are things looking to Max and Yuki this weekend. Missed free practice. But also is it that McLaren is not as competitive here?
For Sure!!

Any words about the rear corner upgrade?
Max complained about cold brakes at some point. Canada is quite demanding on the brakes, drivers usually suffer from overheating. I'm wondering if maybe they are tuning the system right now or maybe I'm just wishful thinking.

No it means he brushed the wall just enough not to cause a major impact on the car.that data comes from official broadcast not me .precision in terms of steering inputs braking points and many decision that comes with driving an f1 car.felipe massa for example was known to take different line on the same corner which meant his laps were not consistent.

I think there' no upgrade here. Nothing in the FIA document, nor in the team's words or van Haren's articles. Maybe it'll come in Austria.

Nothing 'abnormal' - RB21 struggling with understeer in the slow chicanes, McLaren the class of the field (they did run 'future parts' experiments for entire FP1, that's how confident they are) in those chicanes (actually this track is nothing but 5-6 chicanes, 1 U-turn and the rest straights). Mercedes looks strong (close to McLaren) - they were hiding less in quali sims, but did hide more in race sims. LeClerc losing two sessions of practice because he thought 'doesn't matter I can still get back on track' despite locking up and sliding into the grass in one of the sector1 chicanes. Williams looking good as there are no meaningful corners on this track.

Lambiase spoke in Imola about the rear corner upgrade coming in/after a month so could be here or Austria. A cooling tube from the main body to the corners in hollow suspension arms should do the trick

Be interesting to see what that looks like through an infra red camera during a wheel change.

Crashing is more like -1 cm or greater. Zero is a brush!

was he ? that's positively surprising...
in FP2 the car seemed to be 4 wheel sliding at the exit of most chicanes when he applied throttle. The only place where it seemed 'good' was the T10 U-turn just before the mega straight - and that's the only 'technique' corner here.

you guys know that the 'device' that measures this has it's own 'error margin' , right ? For example, when Hulk actually brushed the barrier and peeled off some stickers, it said - 4cm to the wall.

“Today was alright to be honest. In FP1 we felt quite happy in the car but FP2 was a bit more difficult for other reasons. There was a bit less balance and we felt a bit less comfortable in the car, which we need to investigate, but overall I think it was quite a positive day for us. If we can get it back to what it felt in FP1 we will go well. Tomorrow for qualifying, let’s see. There is still one more session to get it right, we just need to get it in a good window and we can see how far we can get in Qualifying."
