The only times Alonso says anything against the team is when he feels hes not being backed and he has said some odd things in the first part of this season which immediately caught my attention. And there are a lot of rumors floating around AM courting Max and also some weird Russell rumors. So it might not be completely baseless. A lot of things are talked about in the paddock that never materialize.
Briatore is there so if Alonso fancy to race few years more just for fun wouldn't be surprise Briatore will welcome him as manager of his to Alpine. But for sure Alonso main aim would be race in 2026 for AM now that Newey is on the team. That's why Croft is a logical speculation if Alonso is out of AM because Father can't suck his son and Verstapen is singing for the team. I doubt Russell would be thinking to change teams specially when the engine would have more importance next year and we know Mercedes what is capable of doing on that area.
Pedro de la Rosa said that Alonso's parents went to Canada and they were with Flavio who is his manager still. So everytime he was seen at Alpine he was just visiting his parents.

Ferrari pace was superior to Aston. So extending the stint with mediums was the right decision as the hards had higher deg than expected.
I did not like the team starting Alonso on mediums, but it was the right decision to keep Alonso out there as long as possible. Even if Alonso pitted the moment his tyres hit the cliff, he would have still been behind all the other hard tyre runners in a DRS train. Well, it's not only RUS, there are also the permanent VER rumours. We heard none of such things in 2023, none of them in 2024. Too much noise "for nothing".
Yet Russell is quoted in the article as saying he has had no conversations with other teams and is loyal to Mercedes.
