On ORF, Marko said that a podium for Verstappen is not in sight anymore, unless they get lucky with safety cars.

About Tsunoda he said, that he just struggles to adapt to changing conditions, and with the car getting more snappy.

What was the reason for yellow flag anyway? I had a look at Verstappen's onboard and there definitely was a marshal waving it but I've seen nothing out of the ordinary happening on track.

Gasly did a 720* opening up his final lap

A pace deficit of 1s in Q would imply that Max is going to get lapped by both McLarens tomorrow.
Well, for context .. that 0.9 of a second deficit was largely to a banker on used softs.

Kinda off-topic; is it weird that for a few months now I have a strong feeling that the Ver to MB deal was already made/done earlier this year ?

Is it just me or any upgrade they bring makes the car worse? At least temporarily, but they usually make it worse.

you mean update, because upgrade is what makes a car better by definition.

i don't think that every update made the car worse. austria has a lot in common with bahrain which was the weakest track so far this year with this year's car. so, unsurprisingly the car is weaker than Ferrari here. I don't think it's about updates.

I had that feeling as well judging by Max body language. It's not the deal though that has been already made early this year but agreement on intentions about potential transfer, which would depend on certain factors, such as competitive level of his current RB car and the chances to win this year's championship, Max ability to trigger the exit clause and so on.

That's barely an excuse for car's lack of pace. Worth mentioning that Russell set his banker 1:04.843 on used as well and was 0.1s faster, and Leclerc set 1:04.733 (2 tenths faster than Max banker in Q3) on used soft already in Q2 where track was for sure significantly slower.
Before the double yellow, Max was 0.56s behind Lando on his best lap and there is no reason to believe Max would've gotten anything back in the final two corners. The real deficit to Mclaren was at very least 0,6-0,65s. Ferrari for sure was faster as well, Leclerc lost a tenth on S3 his final push lap when the track was the quickest.

Next weekend will be an important one for the silly season. If Russell had already signed a contract extension, Silverstone would be the perfect place for announcing it.

Yes! No better place for Aston Martin to announce it. :D
