So let's recap.
1)Good job from Lando Norris. He did a silent race and in my personal opinion even though he did not deserve the win it was still a win.
2)Piastri on full rain where cars become equal showed why he's already passed Max Verstappen in skill or at least equal. Are people still want to ignore the Australian's skill? 15 seconds gap to the Dutch rainmaster and another 5 after the first Safety Car. This is a master class race from Oscar but I don't see the media giving him credit. I feel personally considering the past that the stewards have double standards regarding penalties.
1)
Norris fully deserved this victory. Piastri was not able to 'pull away' because Norris kept his inters in a better state than Piastri did, and once he was the leader, was 'managing risk'. Piastri did close the gap towards the end, but it was mainly because Norris was 'managing' - he was doing exactly what was required, and nothing more. He wasn't trying to prove anything and rightly so.
Piastri was just being a typical racing driver, crying foul over his penalty, He did drive a brilliant race, did something notty, was penalized for it, then complained about it and wanted the team to compensate for the stewards treating him 'unfairly' and 'demanding his place back' - atleast it will correct the narrative that he is some sort of Buddhist monk who finds himself in a racing car. Piastri is a typical opportunist racing driver who happens to be a silent/reserved personality - may long he continue to be like that.
I don't understand why so many Mclaren fans in this thread are pissed off that Piastri didn't win it & are annoyed by Norris celebrating his win - I am not sure if it was a Verstappen/Russel being the 'safety car' (once the actual safety car has switched off it's lights and pulled away into the pits) and did that 'gimmick' , this thread would have stayed in support of the act - there would have been 'baying for blood'. Deserved penalty.
2)
Let me not say anything more than - "no racing driver in the world can drive fast if there is no grip from lack of downforce, when already the coefficient of friction between tarmac and rubber is very low". In fact I am surprised that Max made only one mistake in such low grip conditions, with 'so much lack of downforce' - he is not god, he is human, who happens to be a good racing driver.
About Piastri not being appreciated enough : what media are you reading/watching ? Piastri is the toast of the 2025 season - praise pouring in from all directions about how a guy in just his 3rd season, is giving sleepless nights to a phenomenal talent who is in his 7th season and finally has a winnable car. The talent of Piastri is not lost on anyone, FFS. But I think you are making a grave mistake by claiming he has surpassed Max etc - every man has his opinions and all that.....
