So it is time for Hulk to bag his first win.
The 2nd sector alone is the most rewarding and satisfying section especially if you nail Pouhon (T11-T12), Fagnes(T13-T14) and Stavelot (T-15). This is where the balance between top speed and downforce is at its most critical.venkyhere wrote: ↑21 Jul 2025, 14:37It's my favourite circuit; has all types of corners and the bus stop chicane as well. The most 'complete' circuit technically. There is no 'free lunch' sector where the driver can leave it to the engineers and 'let the car alone make the difference', every sector has some kind of technical expertise elicited from the driver, where an inferior driver in the same car will lose several tenths.

I hope it’s wet…. But I can’t see much rain on my forecast…?
GFS says dry on Saturday, rain on Sunday afternoon.
Spa was never good in the rain. We had very good Qs with a drying track, but never really good races. The track is completely different from Silverstone in this regard.
Water is always good, whatever the track is. Even if the risk is Spa 2021.basti313 wrote:Spa was never good in the rain. We had very good Qs with a drying track, but never really good races. The track is completely different from Silverstone in this regard.
agree, but I miss the old bus stop chicane. Can't remember what was the reason behind changing it.venkyhere wrote: ↑21 Jul 2025, 14:37It's my favourite circuit; has all types of corners and the bus stop chicane as well. I do not see it like this. Spa is too long for this and too difficult. Everyone changes the tires at the same lap +-1 at maximum, so there is no spice up. Plus all main overtaking spots are in the middle of trees...they simply do not dry up next to the racing line. We saw this in the sprint and we saw this in 2005 when Rai could not get past Mon albeit being 2sec or more faster....Jurgen von Diaz wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 09:09Water is always good, whatever the track is. FIA should have power to force everyone on full wets and staying with them. Nowadays, everyone just tries to manage with inters until the race is stopped when someone is in the wall with inters. Brazil 2016 was absolutely masterpiece with full wets.basti313 wrote:I do not see it like this. Spa is too long for this and too difficult. 2005 is also the example for today. Any car that does not overheat the tires will just have a massive advantage on the drying track.
