Deliberately forcing waved yellows.
thats just a dumb take. why would he screw himself just to screw over others like that.....
Of course, the spin was not intentional. Stopping on the edge of the track, hoping to ruin everyone else's lap was.
Already was out of sq, couldn't save himself doing that.

A long technical track really opens up the speed advantage of Piastri over Norris. McLaren won’t be happy.

Some new tarmac last year sure helps, but I agree 1.40.5 is super fast.

Norris is reported to have been too aggressive on his out lap.

Reported?! You mean that was just a Brundle normal jump to conclusion, Norris just pretty much shot it down.

Hamilton just parked the car. There was plenty of time to either get back on track or to take the escape route.

Every clever driver would, but that honestly doesn't really make it much better.

It's insane how these ground effect cars have peaked. I expect Q times to be more than 1s faster, compared to the previous 'dry' Q here.
2019 - 42.519
2020 - 41.252
2021 - wet
2022 - 43.665
2023 - wet
2024 - wet
2025 - 40.510

Didn't realize 2022 cars were much slower. I was under the impression it was in the 1.41s, which was the case with the mighty W11 in 2020. Almost 3/4th of a second faster now (not quite the 1s that I very optimistically wished). That's simply unbelievable, despite the expectation that in a regulation era the fastest ones are found in the last year. What a car the McL39 is.

At the risk of feeding a troll.

Yes you are right they will be unhappy that super slow Norris prolonged Ricciardo’s poor stint at the team. If Oscar was Ricciardo's team mate Mclaren would have had to terminate Ricciardo’s contract a season sooner

They will probably lower the lap time by 2-3 tenths tomorrow

I wouldn't call the Mcl39 fast just because of the pace, but this car is actually well prepared for every disadvantage the ground effect cars bring, with no engine advantage... it's purely just aero and mechanical development, Mclaren did everything "not" to do in these regulations of car and it paid off BIG time.

Thankfully were switching to 2026 where it's not just one team that get their cars to work consistently.

I think new surface in last chicane is giving these cars something like half a second bonus time. Piastri gains 4 tenths in bus stop when we know 2020 cars still eat 2025 for breakfast in low speed usually. W11 was actually still faster in all but one 150-250 kmh corners.
