In 2024, I would have no doubt that with the pace shown today they can easily win against Verstappen. Just split the strategies and use the pace the car has.

Problem in 2025 is that it is unlikely they will split the strategies. They seem to be unwilling to do that because it would favor one of the drivers so we get Japan situation where they followed Verstappen into the pits.

Hopefully we can avoid that tomorrow. It would not be smart to leave any chance of Verstappen making a comeback.
We’ve talked about this before. I say they offer the split strategy option in hope to win the race to the driver who is directly behind the rival they want to beat if that driver doesn’t want it then the driver who is second on the road should be offered the same option
Yeah, that would make sense. Or maybe just make a rule that driver that is ahead has priority of strategy, so they get the strategy they think is faster.

But looks like Max is on higher downforce now, so maybe the top speed problem won't be as pronounced.

Looking way better for Lando this quali compared to Oscar till now. Yesterday Oscar was from another planet, specially in the mid sector.

Amazing comparison from Alex H2H Oscar vs Lando. Almost identical...this is a nice one to be. Hope Max will not be here today to ruin the party

What makes you think that?
I’m looking at the same data as Brundle which says it’s verstappen was on used

Look at the onboard, the moment it shows his tires on warmup lap you can see that it has shiny edges. This is never visible on a used tire.

Unfortunately they were showing his helmet the moment he left the pits.

But also, why would they be saving tires? He didn't do a second run in Q2.

He just rewound it- he was on new tyres

Great work team!

And we shouldn't fear low downforce Red Bull in the race. Looking forward to good clean racing tomorrow, let's get 1-2.

Great lap by Lando. Little mistake by Max in the first corner not so sure it would have beaten Landos lap even if he nailed it.

Great work team for that 1-2. Tomorrow both drivers need to be careful not to hit each other and have a clean battle at the start. Piastri might have an advantage tomorrow as the one in 2nd place have a long TOW but due to different set ups this time it might not be the case tomorrow. In any case congratulations for a good 1-2 and may the best driver wins tomorrow.

Don't know about McLaren but Palmer for sure. For some races he started more and more to be a "small" hater when comes about Lando performance. Maybe is only my opinion but anytime Hamilton or Russell is doing some bad performance he finds an excuse. But when comes to Lando, he is stricter than the stewards with Oscar under SC :D

Well done to Lando, he improved vs yesterday when most important, in S2. Very happy also for Oscar and it will be a interesting day tomorrow, with the announced rain.

Ps: happy to see her simile, at "her home"

Good that Max is behind Leclerc. The Mclaren battle could get spicy. Even more so if Max gets past Charles quickly.
