Did Aston go with a setup for wet weather tomorrow or are those speed traps just reflective of a high drag/inefficiency struggles of the last season or two?

i dont think this is representative of astons real pace, i think its representative of aston not knowing wtf they are doing when its time to put updates on a car. truely they need to get on top of this BS soon. if somebody needs to be replaced, they need to do it now. theres obviously some people that are clueless compared to every other team on the grid. look at what sauber and haas are doing with half the budget.

hopefully they can get lucky and make some changes that work over night.

I think Aston Martin quickly realised that their car wouldn’t be competitive on this track. Anticipating rain, they decided to carry out several tests to optimise the wet setup.

The racing team is trying to make the most of what they have. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

It is a high-speed, aero-demanding track and Aston Martin has struggled at such circuits in the past due to straight-line speed and downforce balance

Rain & carnage on first lap will give AM something to play for…otherwise it’s going to be a painful afternoon.
Even if they decide to start from
Pit lane, AM has no clue about race setup; it’s going to be gamble.

I think they are lacking aero efficiency big time. Once they use smaller wings their balance is nowhere. Drivers complained in the past that they are so slow on the straights, but otherwise they are just uncompetitive. Budapest could be very different again, especially with more time to dial in the car.

No,they just slow. There are no such a setup like only wet. They always use dry setup, since in wet conditions everybody can change settings. Also doesn't make sense to false dad about the upgrades.

Yeah besides the new engine I hope they figure out something better for the race wet or dry.

I thought they were already setup for rain. They lost nearly 5 kph down the straight on the switch to the Miami rear wing. So alot more DF.

My understanding is, they would be allowed to change the PU without having to start from the pit lane. They'd only get a penalty if they exceeded PU allocation for the year(even then it would 5 position from you current starting position). You're allowed to change like for like parts in Parc Ferme. It's only when you change for different parts that they have to start from pit lane. So they surely changed to different parts for whatever reason(data collection and or performance).
