Norris just has an off??
He just lost 1.8s in the blink.of an eye
Coverage I'm watching didn't show it, but the commentators just mentioned.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025, 17:14Yeah, I think he caught the white line on the inside of Pouhon so he went wide off track but returned.
Yeah, I used F1TV onboard so saw the moment.mwillems wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025, 17:15Coverage I'm watching didn't show it, but the commentators just mentioned.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025, 17:14Yeah, I think he caught the white line on the inside of Pouhon so he went wide off track but returned.
That will be the interesting one to see if this was discussed with Oscar if it wasn't (and Lando wins) I'd be feeling a little disappointed if I was him. Lando is driving extremely well so not to take anything away from him here.mwillems wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025, 17:10It is, just surprising. Was Oscar given the option?FittingMechanics wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025, 16:56Hard to come back 6-7 seconds and fight through. This is a smart call. Surprising others didn't do it, it's exactly type of thing you can gamble on.
Looks like Oscar will try to go to the end as well (Team stream reports that). So Piastri is managing. Let's see how it shakes out.
Softs won't be much good given how the mediums have degraded, so it feels like advantage Lando.
I think he will try to stick it out on a 1 stop. He has no chance of victory if he pits.
I would think he's trying to 1 stop if by not pushing I think Landos little off may be very costly .
I think Oscar will make it work. He was managing tires from the pitstop (Norris was doing the same laptime on tires 2 steps harder) and he has a nice buffer.
He will now.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025, 17:24I think Oscar will make it work. He was managing tires from the pitstop (Norris was doing the same laptime on tires 2 steps harder) and he has a nice buffer.
Lando it seems pushing a little hard and killing his tyres. Normally he's good at tyre management but the pit stop probably forced him to push a little harder and the little offs have cost him any chance I think unless oscars tyres really go off *flashbacks to Hamilton a few years ago*mwillems wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025, 17:29He will now.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025, 17:24I think Oscar will make it work. I think his tyres will collapse at some point. But Lando has given him over 2s for free now.
