I am sure we will get a nice explanation form Frederic Vasseur on what transpired today.

Both Leclerc and Vasseur said there was an issue with the chassis.
I don't believe this at all. They are saying this to "cover" themselves.

Track temps went up by 10 degrees and that's what derailed the car back to the Q1 and Q2 pace it had. No other reason as far as I can see. Hamilton also dropped to the 1.23 as soon as the rack temps went up. Likely issue, tyre contact patch angle due to suspension set up and they likely caused by the new suspension.

Good news, this means Leckercs pace is genuine. Bad News, almost impossible to fix so that suspension needs to be thrown out or else expect more of these to happen.
Halo not as bad as we thought

It is not an issue related to track or fuel, it wouldn’t cost 1 second per lap.
Leclerc was talking about it on the radio since 2nd stint.
For some reason they deliberately leave it for the last stint, maybe because usually positions and gaps are defined.

According to Vasseur there were two problems.

1: Chassis which broke around lap 40, costing him 2 seconds a lap.

2: Engine which was having problems all race, costing him 1-3 tenths a lap.

Leclerc said he initially thought they messed up the front wing, resulting in the radio message above. Then after the race they told him it was the chassis.

Sky IT thinks it was that Ferrari messed up the tire pressures.

I'm skeptical on that chassis issue, Charles was talking about managing "the issue" before pitting, how can you manage chassis damage. The car had issues with both drivers

There's something incredibly wrong with how the team built this car, it simply can't run flat out, it's always having to cool something, protect something, something always becomes a problem...
Charles deserved so much more.

On the tactic front the team shouldn't have been so eager to cover Piastri, leaving the door wide open for the one stopper.

As far as I understand it what they mean is

Underfueling = problem for both cars happened the entire race

Engine problem = happened the entire race and subject of Leclerc's initial complaints

"Front wing" = Leclerc thought they messed it up and this is what he was talking about on the radio mid-race

Chassis = problem in the last stint which cost 1+ seconds per lap

I don't know if this is true or not but that's the timeline.

Engine cant do a race

Brakes cant do a race

Plank cant do a race.

Chassis cant do a race.

Also, George on sky mentioned increasing tyre pressures on tyres for last stints on low fuel to lift the car is a thing.

I hate to add more doom and gloom to this thread but Hamilton's interview was even more depressing today...

Hamilton had a decent race. I hope he doesn't beat himself up over today.

This makes way more sense than the broken chassis.
