It's not the first time that we've seen this from Leclerc. He drove into the side of Norris in Spain during free practice because he was upset that Norris impeded him.
Yes, because of all the bad luck he had today, some leniency of penalty is not something most people care to argue about (unlike you)AR3-GP wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 20:41It's not the first time that we've seen this from Leclerc. I'm wondering how Leclerc only got 5 seconds today? Not that it makes a difference to the running order, but what could possibly have mitigated the standard 10 second penalty? The first time was a bit naughty but the 2nd time was slam dunk and also deliberate.
If a different driver had done this, this thread would have tripled in page count.
Which bad luck?Sphere3758 wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 20:47Yes, because of all the bad luck he had today, some leniency of penalty is not something most people care to argue about (unlike you)AR3-GP wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 20:41It's not the first time that we've seen this from Leclerc. Indeed!
I don't think it would work as Pirelli probably would just removed softest tire from selection amd we'd still have the same strategies or even less.Sevach wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 17:32I think it would be better if we went back to 2 tire types per weekend, with 3 tires teams have zeroed in on ignoring the softest and we have one stoppers everywhere except the absolute hardest tracks for tires.erudite450 wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 17:11Not sure I find Norris' drive that impressive. Just like Russel in Spa 2024, he took a gamble because he was effectively out of the race. And just like Russel, he didn't have to do much because the tyres were just too robust.
Pirelli needs to do better with their tyre choices. They are being too conservative. It was pretty much impossible to overtake today no matter the tyre delta.
EDIT: Typo
Because while he moved under braking, he didn't actually impede anybody. Basically a desperate scare tactic.AR3-GP wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 20:41It's not the first time that we've seen this from Leclerc. I'm a strong believer in an eye for an eye, everyone racing one another how they want to be raced in return. Therefore, I don't have a criticism of Leclerc. Russell sounded like a schoolboy tattling on a classmate to the headmaster...embarrassing stuff. I know they all do it but his voice is just so pre-pubescent at times...Seanspeed wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 23:18Because while he moved under braking, he didn't actually impede anybody. And other drivers DO do this sort of thing all the time and never get punished for it. Verstappen himself literally did it against Leclerc at this very track in the past and nothing was even 'noted', let alone punished.
Well you're unwilling to say who you're talking about, so it's hard to say much else, I guess. I see this sort of behavior go unpunished loads, much like running others off-track.AR3-GP wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 23:35I'm a strong believer in an eye for an eye, everyone racing one another how they want to be raced in return. However given how discussions on this forum tend to go when one driver is involved, I thought the lack of interest in this one was odd...
oh you know
Verstappen is criticized regularly, but usually when people are talking about him, it's cuz he's done something far more than just 'banal'. He's a genuinely constant offender in the 'pushing things too far' category.
At the lap he got very close and locked up his brakes, he should have tried to go to outside brake late, and get under Norris. Then with drs he could have passed him. I think Lewis has done it before in his Mercedes days
