Looking at the images, I would say the diffuser central channel changed in Singapore. You can see the curved section has been bridged above the starter hole and this can been seen in the later pictures also.

Regards the asymmetric end fence at Interlagos, this appears a trick of the light. The "bent back section" on the right top edge of the diffuser is reflecting white which makes it appear to be missing. This makes the end part appear larger than the one on the left hand side.

I knew I saw a new "hole" in the diffuser....The "spoon" actually looks deeper but may be a visual trick because of the bridge.

It seems to me that on the bottom right of the diffuser there is pavement shown in the picture that looks exactly like part of the difusser/endplate..

Oh, if that is the part they are talking about then I agree with TRICKLE69. That greyness is coming from beyond the rear wheel (i.e the pavement) and if it were part of the diffuser then I assume that would contravene the minimum height restrictions( :?: ).

Wow i wish i had found all this earlier its brilliant.

Not meaning to spoil your thread but i am unable to pm as i don't have any posts yet.

I am a student who is looking to model the bgp001 car for a project. It would be great if i could get hold of a full frontal top and side image for referencing from one of the earlier races.

Many thanks

This looks similar to the Mclaren set up w/Japan seeing a different rotor set up.

Could it be that 1 is Button's and 1 is Ruben's? As they like different rotors don't they?

FRONT WING - BRAZIL
Image

1.The tested version only featured endplates which sported a particularly sculpted entry profile at the bottom edge to increase the procuced downforce and reduce turbulence around the front wheels
2.The small wing’s support pillar was brought back to use
3.The small wing’s large endplate became curvy again
4.The endplate’s horizontal section featured a small semi-circular Venturi channel which helps to generate more downforce .
5.Enlarged gurney tab
6.Banco de Brasil sponsor logo

REAR WING - BRAZIL
Image

At Interlagos Brawn BGP001 was equipped with a rear wing similar to the version used at Suzuka with the most striking difference between the two to be the addition of the Cerveja ITAIPAVA sponsor logo

isn´t it striking to see they chose a front wing version with gurney tabs more
suitable than a version without?
Does this imply the curvy endplates of the auxilliary wings are creating more drag than the gurneys added?

the test version seems to sport an identical flap (obviously minus the gurney),but will this not have the effect of earlier separation on the testwing ,especially when considering they use if anything a steeper angle of attack?

It could also be due to the new bargeboards and the cooling for interlagos. They were quite heavily modified between the two races, here's a rubbish attempt of mine or if you look up the thread then you can see BAR555s far better picture.

I think that the variation is due to the different brake requirements of the two tracks. I am not sure if Button and Rubens were using the same rotors.

BARGEBOARDS - BRAZIL
Image

The barge-board profile changed dramatically at Brazil , especially at the top of the shields. These now feature a clear saw-tooth profile at its upper edge towards the rear . This helps in reducing turbulence and improving engine cooling

For the race the team preffered to use asymmetric exhaust outlets with the left one to be significally enlarged
