McLaren Sensodyne>

Seriously though, great job by Zak. When he was moved up from Commercial and appointed CEO of McLaren Racing in 2018, he made some hard to believe promises. But under he's leadership, he's spectacularly delivered! The 5 year plan to get back to fighting for wins and Championships came to fruition, (taking into consideration the disruption of COVID) even with the backward steps during the James Key era. He also said McLaren was willing, but would sign up a title sponsor for a big number. Instead, top level brands were brought on and raised the profile of the team, without underselling the title sponsor position. Dell, BAT, Google, Cisco, etc. Well done to Zak and the entire team, after a decade in the sewer, back on top in every metric.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Thats great news. We already have some of the biggest sponsorship revenue on the grid, if not the biggest deals.

This will fix that fact and better enable the team to pay big driver contracts if need be.

Can't remember who I was talking to, but I recall saying previously that repeated success would bring us the bigger deals and it was a matter of time.

Go Mclaren.
I wonder if there's any further infrastructure upgrades they can sanction for the future with all these resources. Although they've only recently upgraded the wind tunnel, sim, cfd and composites facilities etc., there's always more you can do to stay up-to-date.
Possibly yeah. Even CapEx has limits under the cap though, but in theory we can update and replace. I wonder what could be upgraded though, since we recently built new sim, tunnel and manufacturing facility.

There's always more investment in AI and CFD I guess.

IIRC we still have debt from when shareholders supported us so I'd imagine we will be sending some money their way initially.

But as you point out, if we need cash for a big spend then we've got it.

It's been interesting watching the visibility of Mastercard since they first appeared with McLaren - no "Mastercard", just the logo, but very prominent. Always looked like Zak was really wooing them to get in with both feet. Now with the WDC/WCC double assured for 2025 and the evidence of a team totally on top, Mastercard have taken the leap and brought the big $$$$$$$. Very clever work by Zak, he's certainly proved to be the dealmaker. Naming rights, that's a status that goes back as far as Vodafone in 2013 doesn't it? I recall Ron Dennis baulking at naming rights sponsorship levels and preferring to go naked.

Where are the people now who claimed that McLaren doesn't want and need a title sponsor, because they would be so dependend on them? Or a sponsor doesn't fit into the McLaren brand? It's all a question of money and obviously now the right deal appeared for the team.

Well, they didn’t really need it. They were (estimated) the most profitable team, sponsors wise without a title sponsor. In the end, of course its a matter of money. Its rumored this deal is worth $100 million. You don’t say no to that amount of money because you dont want to change your name

Its the whole brand. 2 very marketable and largely humble drivers, a super respectful and humble TP, the social media management and fan engagement, think Lando and the nice things he goes out of his way to do for kids.

Its really hard to not like this team, they are in every aspect Marketable.

Itll be interesting to see the brands car sales numbers at the end of 25, see if the F1 team has had a positive impact there.

Its 60m extra and since we are coincidentally Mastercard coloured, I expect the main change to be a little red and a little more prominance of the Logo.

Can't imagine we'll lose much by way of other sponsor Income.

We deffo had the biggest sponsorship portfolio, but we also couldn't afford the likes of Max V, and we have debts to pay due to the support we needed.

We definately need the cash in the near term, and most likely the cost of our drivers will raise again after the WDC. As will the costs of the likes of Stella, Marshall, Prodmorou etc otherwise we risk losing our talent. Success is expensive.

Its not hard to see us lose half that cash in Salaries and Bonus over the next 2 years.

(un)fortunately Zak was quoted as saying the livery wont change much except to adapt to the '26 car
I would expect a few more shades of orange at the very most and repositioned sponsor names
