This is extremely boring. Everybody and his dog knew that Button was going to stay at Brawn and Rubens would be swapping places with Nico. So why would any serious person even talk about this silly exercise of price haggling. That they cannot sort this out in a quiet and dignified way is ridiculous. Poor Jenson stuck with his unpaid laundry bill and murderous third class air passages.

It is all about fixing a salary between 6-12 million and how is that interesting to anybody?
For me the only talking point at the moment is Kimi's decision. His sacking at Ferrari was rather spectacular but he has shown in the last five races that he is still capable of doing great things, just a shame that he did not do this all the time. For any principal with a potentially inferior car Kimi's attitude problem must be a serious worry. On one side you probably want him for his talent, on the other side you dread what may happen if he finds out he is riding a dog again.
His only chance for a competitive car is McLaren and they are not likely to pay half what he got at Ferrari. You have to figure into this that there may be eight competitive cars again next year and his chances for another WDC are pretty slim. In fact I cannot see him doing more than he did this season. The occasional podium and one or two race wins. Would he be happy with that? Or is it time to take Ferrari's money and start a rally and sports car carreer?
