Ferrari ran with less detuned engines than McLaren and Redbull. They have to, in front of the home crowd/media.
What was really funny was TedKravitz reporting that McLaren & Ferrari have more 'rear wing' than the Redbull. It's true in the case of the McLaren but completely wrong in case of Ferrari. The Ferrari RW looks like two sheets of paper, less to nothing 'spoon' in the mainplane ; whilst the Redbull RW's mainplane has some 'spoon'.

I think the home favourites will struggle here.

The car as is well known, appears to lose much of its pace unless it's slammed....especially on high speed tracks. They could slam the car but the plank will get destroyed through Lesmo 1 & 2 plus Ascari. Quali I could see them placing well (Hamilton's penalty aside), but I think they'll struggle to maintain position in the race.

They could of course go with raising the car but then they'll not qualify well. Third option is risk it all at Monza and hope they don't wear the plank down enough for a DSQ.
They were certainly struggling in FP1...
They don’t have to worry about plank wear in FP1, they can burn as much timber as they like. It’s a glory run.

Anyone who suggests setting the car up for glory runs with a ride height known to be unsustainable would be the first person I would sack from the team.
If Ferrari wanted to go for glory during FP, they would just go with the tried and tested high engine mode and low fuel, rather than waste time on a set-up they know they can't use.

(FWIW, FP1 looked more like others failing to set representative times due to interruptions, etc., rather than glory runs.)

Williams a genuine threat or will they just slightly drop back tomorrow?
