We'll see tomorrow if they ran low engine modes or something, but looks difficult to get into the points so far unless they find something overnight.
They're last in sector 2 as a team. Its all low speed turns so no big role for engine modes. They are going to struggle unless they make massive changes to setup or something.

Catastrophic. We can be happy if we get to Q2.

Alonso trying the mediums on the second Q1 run.

And another medium for the last run.

Both through to Q2. Alonso was setting purple mini sector on the mediums near the end of his lap.

Alonso managed to be 1.1 seconds faster than Stroll who couldn’t improve because of wind and 4 tenths off pole but missed out on Q3 anyway because P10 is 3 tenths off pole so overall a great result considering the track and cars weakness. P11 is better than P10 especially with new tyres for the race

The straight line speed is good down the start finish straight, they're just not generating enough DF from the Floor. So it could be that it's too bumpy to get too close to the asphalt.... It's more likely the floor doesn't generate enough DF at a higher height and the plank/floor/suspension that doesn't allow it to get close enough to the asphalt in bumpier conditions.

Aston should have been designing their own suspension like McLaren years ago, not going into 2026, but you live and you learn

Red Flag Special ?

Who know's, Alonso might move up in the race start cause some cars might get penalties for parts or PU replacements.

Lots of red flags not much you can do about that. Wasn't Leclerc red flag in Q3? LOST TRACK.

Looks like we're starting on Mediums. Pirelli said that the Mediums are good for more than 6 laps more than Softs. They must still have a set of mediums with just 1 lap in anger. We still have new Softs for a run later in the race if there is a safety car.

Track is green after overnight rain ...

Unless it rains, no hope in this race.
