Grand chelem. Pole, win, lead every lap, fastest lap. Impressive performance. Singapore will be a real benchmark for the updated RB21. If Max can win even there, then the even the championship is possible.

Mekies said Max pushed the team for the hard tire at the start.
Mekies is getting all the brownie points. At this point he is doing his best to keep Max happy. Fair enough. In the end it wouldn't have mattered. Car was good.
Call a spade, a spade.

The paddock chatter before his arrival at RBR is that he's a very good people person. As you say, Max would have won with either tire, but the dynamic in the team is clearly now taking more consideration for driver input.

Anyone else as delusional as me believing in this Max championship comeback? I feel it in my bones that neither McLaren driver are winning it this year. [-o<

Want to see that 2007 again. With two mclaren drivers fighting for the title and then the third one takes it in the final race. It would be the best story of the century...

Not that I have any evidence but there is still time for Mclaren to unleash an upgrade too, only they won’t want to.
They held their nerve last season when Ferrari brought a new floor and with a bigger points cushion this season they’ll probably will hold their nerve again.
What happens in Singapore will make up their minds

gap is too big at the moment, and we don't even have the certainty that in high downforce tracks the car will be as good

let's see what happens in Singapore first

If Max can win in Singapore by pace, then anything is possible. Max is not making mistakes, and the bigger the pressure, the more mistakes Mclaren makes.

Weird Red Bull is better in the low-speed corners than Mclaren. But it could be just low track-temps and Max factor of course. Singapore will be the whole different test.

Max was only 2.5 tenths off in qualifying last year in Singapore with a much worse car. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't most of the corners in Singapore "slow" like Baku?

Max will always be in contention for pole like he has been for most of this season.
Singapore will murder the tyres, if he’s not a second off with the race pace like in Zandvoort then he’s well in the hunt.

It's not only a matter of corner speed, you have to factor in also other elements, track surface, track temperatures, downforce level.....Singapore is very different from Baku in these aspects, specially from this unusual Baku we had this year in terms of temperatures. So I wouldn't read much into the slow speed performance we saw this weekend.

They might again qualify on medium tyres in qualy. This tyre works much better on this car.

What happend today is a 2-fold win:
-Max slashed a big Chuck out of his points deficit
-Norris is close enough to Piastri again to start believing. Realistically, Max needs Norris and Piastri to go into the wall together soon.

Max can wrestle himself into a position to beat Piastri, but he too needs a storyline in which that will yield him the championship.

Please read up on F1 rules. Medium tires can be 4 different compounds, depending on the venue...
