Steve, YOU TOOK MY AVATAR IDEA.

I know I didn't own the idea, but c'mon. It's not even an armchair :)

I guess it was a good idea.

Did you render a high res copy that I could perhaps have, but don't worry, I'll let you continue to plagiarize my brain. I won't steal back my idea that you stole.

And your point is WB - spoke to SpeedTv this morning in fact - everything seems on track

My point was just to help people to a bit of humor as suggested by Roger the knife. He did not post a link.

I don't think SpeedTV would qualify as an independent witness really, afraid WB's links are not awfully far from the truth.

Agreed, I thought they were very funny indeed!

Thanks for the heads up on it =D>

To me,

It just sounds like bitter Brits slamming on USF1.

Why does this diatribe sound any different than a NASCAR redneck (not indicative to all fans of course) spouting about Toyota before they entered NASCAR? Or Peugot coming back to topple the mighty Audi in LMP1.

It sounds like sour grapes. Hating a U.S. team so much that you feel the need to take hours out of your life to make a poorly rendered 3d video to hate on them even more just seems mean and pointless.

No new team deserves the level of bitterness and angst that is being thrown at them.

"But I think Peter Windsor is an idiot...." etc. is not a reason to hate the efforts of a team to try to actually bring something to the table in F1.

I praise the fact the fact they are going to field a car next year, and try to bring American eyes to the sport. The sport is suffering badly, and is essentially in a Middle Eastern escrow (track and money wise) until it's traditional, and new audiences start watching again, and buying tickets to races.

Next year I am attending the race in Montreal, if I am going solo, meeting people there, or travelling with someone non-female it won't matter. I look forward to seeing USF1 there, and will have applaud them if they finish both cars, and are not in last place.

I hope to see that they prove everyone wrong, as so far, that is the only bar they need to pass. THe haters are making it pretty easy for them really in the medium term.

Hey, Giblet relax. Its just piss taking by the Brits. It has nothing to do with the reality. If USF1 turns out to be the best thing since canned beer nobody will know this stuff in a year any more and you will be the hero for predicting their genius.

Giblet, i'm sure 99% of true F1 fans hope there is success here at USF1. It'd have to be a vindictive minded individual to wish failure upon anybody.

USF1 has approached F1 uniquely, and part of its very active marketing strategy (something new fresh for F1) has been to polarise the F1 community. they've brought an "us vs them" mentality which will probably work very well in garnering support in their homeland.

unfortunately, by labeling the traditional F1 industry in Europe as 'them' they are having a dig at the establishment. for a team yet to turn a wheel, it seems very brave, or naive, for them to claim they can do it better than an industry with over 50yr experience. this is the fascination of the next few yrs tho, and hotly anticipated by many including me.

as for the videos, it is called humour/comedy/social commentary.

+1. Excellent post.

I continue to be amazed how a sport / hobby can bring out such viciousness and simple immaturity in this forum.

I'm sorry but I really don't see the viciousness you're talking about.

I see people having some fun at USF1's xpense, yeah, but it's just having fun. I almost pissed my pants when they said "Nigel Stepney cleaning service." And if the Brits want to poke fun at Ameriker I say let 'em. We know what resources we've got over here better than they do, but I for one don't need an F1 team run by sum funny-talkin carpet-baggin fer'ner to prove it.

That said, I'll cheer for them to beat the other new teams and I hope they even bag a race win. But I'm doing all my s**t-talking for the Scuderia.

And by the way, American engineers HAVE been hard at work. They just discovered water...ON THE MOON.
